I watched this twice. (the second time I took notes) One thing puzzles me.... Why did the pope keep Fr. Reidmatten in such a position that he had so much power even after Fr. Ford went to the pope and informed him of what was going on in the commission? I also thought you said that Reidmatten was an assistant to Fr Ford yet it sounds as if Ford was answering to Reidmatten (or did I confuse the two mens positions?)
@jmwilliams023 Granted, this is only my own inexperienced approach, being a new Catholic, but I'm a voracious reader, and my thoughts are that I think the Pope, at the time, understood what the whole commission was about; advice, not a decision, and that he would be making the final decision on the matter. But nobody, not even the Pope, could've predicted the support for such policies by the mainstream media and Protestant churches.

Contraception makes homosexuality/pedophilia/incest palatable. The biggest obstacle/purpose (procreation) is removed. So sex for pleasure, no matter with whom/how is in vogue. It divorces us from coming to know God, because we are made in His image, man and woman, and share in His creative power/love through sex. By distorting our human & sexual nature, we distort who God is, and reject Him who is the true source of joy and reject heaven in favor of hell for carnal wants devoid of all joy.
One of Margaret Sangers partners in fornication was her lover HG Wells. The writer of 'The New World Order'. HG Wells was a proponent of eugenics himself as well as feminism. His 'The Outline of History' was in his mind a replacement of the Bible.
The word "Duty" has become a dirty word in our society. Permissiveness destroys Duty. It is but one of many weapons that the Devil uses to undermine us.
