Well, I don't know. Sometimes I prefer the shorter version to the longer. I'm thinking particularly of the Indiana Jones scene in the longer Return of the King.. :(
@TheSquidification Yes, I'm thinking of the end of the meeting with the Dead and the deluge of skulls.. This passage is much better in the book - more sober and much more impressive. I like the films immensely and I think that Peter Jackson did succeed in avoiding the usual cinematic clichés except in a few places like the meeting with the Dead.
