question: after introduction of the speaker at 4:24...if it is boring to go on and on about thank the person who introduced you for 30 sec..what can a speaker say instead to make it more interesting. How can a speaker thank a person yet make it quick and keep the audience interest in the beginning right away?
instead of thanking the person at the beginning, go right into your presentation - grab your audience: make them pay attention. Make a bold statement, or ask a challenging question. You can always stop a minute or two into the speech (or at the end) and thank your hosts...but by jumping into your speech you are setting yourself apart in a good way from most speakers the audience will hear!
