Historically, a protestant would prefer to live under Islamic rule as compared to the Roman empire. The catholic church ruled Roman Empire persecuted non-Catholics and ruled with a heavy hand. Christians in general (catholic or protestant) had equal rights as Muslims, and even paid less tax.
