@FourDollaRacing : I remember the Renegade, made by Pam Markie in the early 90s, right?
The one in this video (the Zen) is a specialized light wind wind quad line kite, ideal for the 0-4 mph wind range... I live in Oregon too, and if you want the most versatile kite for medium or high winds, I'd suggest looking at a "mid-vent" or "vented" Rev B-Series... There is TONS of great info on the Rev discussion forum, you can find it here - revkitesDOTcom/forum
@FourDollaRacing : The top dealer for Revs (quads) in the greater Portland area is The Kite Shoppe, right across the river in Vancouver... Add a dotcom to the end of that store name and you'll get their web site, the owner Theresa is very knowledgeable and has anything you might want.
I live in Portland, reason I mention it.
FYI, the reason the hobby shops don't carry the Zen is that it's $440 and a limited market... The EXP model is about $199 with everything you need.
@FourDollaRacing : Also, again - I strongly suggest you check out the Rev forum for lots of good info and friendly folks, nothing like user-to-user feedback and help. ;)

@gcndavidmn : There is full info on how to securely handle your kite on our tutorial website ( learnkitesDOTcom )... Specifically, look up "Line Management". ;)
@takubus74 : This kind of kite is called a "Revolution"... It's pretty easy to learn, it's very durable, and the amount of instruction available is unparalleled... Take a look at any of the outdoor Rev tutorials in my YouTube channel, and browse the Revolution forum (revkites dot com slash forum). :)
@kitelife : Thank you very much for your answer John. Then the banjo is Prince's latest album too ? ;-) I apologize to ask you, but you know you have so many comments... I can't read all of them cause English isn't my native tongue ! As I'm not the only one in this case, maybe you could put this Music info in notes on your video with the YouTube notes function ?
Sweet John, looking forward for the end July :) Berkeley,Ca is just a hop and skip away from me i'am in Modesto, Ca and go to the bay area frequently gotta love "The City by the Bay" San Francisco, I am heavy into Extreme Mountain biking as well as my new thang kiteing Thanx to you john loll and San Fran has awesome trails also to inclued is Chabot in Hayward.
Again John thanx for the update look forward to seeing you
@Alphaxomega2: Just booked flights for my wife and I to Berkeley, we'll be there. ;)
I grew up in the SF Bay Area, will be nice to show my wife around for a few days... East Bay, all through SF, not much out of the immediate bay area this time around.
Wonderful Rev, thanks for showing and allow me som very relaxing minutes! Made myself a light wind 1.5 Rev roundabout ten years ago. Theres is no better kiteflying then taking your Rev and fly it at the riverside!
John, Thank you for sending me the Invite to become your friend the pleasure is all mine :) I live in California and the Summer of 2010 is near making for great flying i cannot wait loll. You are one of the "Best" John for which i will never forget.
Again John a big "Thank you" for all you do. Your Friend always, Alphaxomega2012
@Alphaxomega2: We did Kite Party in L.A. last month, hoping to do Berkeley end of July... At least the wife and I, always love to see folks at that event. :)
i have a kite (stunt, but you cant do this stuf it was only £10) so i was wondering if the lines tangled when you do a loopedy loop/360? i mean i see these tricks where they spin the kite around 20 time and they still fly the kite after that! please help!
The lines don't *tangle*, they twist... Control inputs slide through the twist, as long as you don't have too many twists... Higher quality line (made from Spectra) will allow more twists before it locks up, because it's much more smooth/slippery.
One, a £10 kite probably doesn't control quite as well, and two, it probably came with a low-end dacron or nylon line that isn't as smooth or strong.
"you:" have inspired me to fly, you never seem to stop amazing me with your flying as if you and the quad(Rev) become one, John your one of a kind keep us the awesome flying. your fan
DEAR JOHN Barresi .... ......... YOU ARE THE BEST ... I AM YOUR FAN, THE VIDEO IS FANTASTIC...........AND THE MUSIC IS DIVINE....GOD SAVE THE KING FOREVER..........FROM SÃO PAULO/BRASIL/CARLOS GIANNOTTI.
This is so amazing !
i cant believe how you control the kite. it's just amazing.
cant find any other words for this !
