Ye, the aproach speed is 170 mph (knts). You should just fly a little longer over the runway and it will get down automatically =]

that was the worst approach ever!!! did you know flaring on approach is one of the most dangerous ways of landing an aircraft. you leave yourself wide open to stalls, engine failures and other kinds of problems, if that was your best landing, then you need a lot of practice.

@Mthtmty what you just said did not relate to the reason he flared on approach. the nose of a concorde droops downwards to help it sink and keep the aircraft steady for a good approach. if he worked more carefully on descending, then maybe he wouldnt have come in too low resulting in him flaring on approach. he should have mad a go around. that kind of approach is notoriously known as the stall approach that have lead pilots to their death alot of times. flaring is meant to be at the last minute

@Mthtmty the nose compensates for flaps during takeoff and landing. yeah its mainly for visability but i started off talking about his approach. the visability is not so you can flare on approach, its because general landing speed for a concorde is around 200 knots, being such a high speed for landing, the pilot needs all the visability he can get.

@trollydodger Because Concorde has delta wings it needs to flare to have enough lift like every delta winged aircraft. Concorde would drop out of the sky is she didn't flare like that. The pilots wouldn't be able to see with runway without drooping the nose.

@trollydodger the nose doesn't compensate for flaps during takeoff and landing, it's just for visibility. In a wind tunnel report, there was a vortex forming at the tips of the wings. And that vortex somehow creates lift. So the nose is only for visibility. For an aircraft to achieve speeds Mach 1 and above, it needs a cone shaped nose, not a round one. So the moving nose was the solution to the visibility problem. This was why the Boeing 2707 project was cancelled. Hope this helps!

I tried to land Concorde once on one of these simulation things. Really rough landing, however. I have a friend that flew concorde as first officer and I really worship him for flying such an amzing bird. He probably laughs at me knowing that I fly 777-200ER in comparison to concorde!!! 777 is great though! :)

@DeKarle1992 Yeah, Alpha Delta was painted "two faced" for a time when Singapore had a route from Dubai (I think it was Dubai, and BA flew Dubai-London) any who, it was short lived as India nixed supersonic flights after one too many sonic booms...

get a joystick m8 if u dont have one , using keys on the keyboard are very stupid cus of the way the plane acts towards them , i use a cheap £10 joystick and i dont look back to them dirty little arrow keys! LOL! :D

using a joystick will make u better and fying (especially landing) .
