  • ya but that lady is Chinese isn't she?

  • @remuskl yeah she from main land china eating dog and cat she need money to support her family even hs is hooker of old british man already

  • I watched the clip several times, it looks to me that the woman in the clip shoplifted the wallet. At 0:24 she took the wallet and placed it on the back counter, then the man walk back and blocked the line of sight and at 0:28 she placed the wallet in her handbag. Looks to me the two are working together.

  • its no different than the big corporations in the uk that falsly accuse peopel of shoplifting and not allow them to leave the store and assault innocent customers. THe police always grovel to the corporations. this happens everyday in the uk somewhere but nobody makes anything of it. There is a simple solution and that is do not shop in corporate stores and buy youre food from farms

  • 7.000 for a fuking wallet? thay people mao ting tong mak maa

  • 7.000 for a fuking wallet? thay people ting tong mak maa

  • Dirty Thai scammers. They always pull fake shit like this to scam innocent tourists. Customs officers, police, even the army are at it. No wonder noone wants to go to Thailan any more, except dirty paedophile british sexpats.

  • joey7286 - do some research into the case before damning a whole country. Read about the royal thai police and the king power scam at the airport. It really is a stupid and racist remark.

  • Brits are the worst motherfuckers on the planet

  • som num na

  • Thailand..,..Asias shame,totally untrustworthy 80% of em are.

  • @ianpafc Brits: thieves that think they can go around the world stealing and get away with it? Is that a fair assessment based on your way of thinking?

  • To me it looks she put purse in her bag.

  • iv lived in thailand for four years iv never had a problem with the thai police but that is more luck than anything els you do need to be very carefull i have friends in high places in bkk im one of the lucky ones but very bad things have happend to tourist thai police dont tend to pick of friendly polite people if you smile and give them a high why strait away give them the upper hand you can often get away with out paying fines its not the way thigs should be done but its the wy it is

  • Hardly conclusive. The issue whether she had something in her hand at 0.29. Did she? It looks like she's picked something off the shelf. Maybe she was going to, but changed her mind. You can't actually see, one way or the other. The fact that security didn't subsequently find it on her suggests that she didn't pick it up at that point.

  • The Thai police were surely took the bribe from this couple which was the wrong thing to do but hey...these couple are thieves who were caught and tried to bought their way out of jail.

Plenty of knife crimes and all shit in the UK too so don't try to talk just highly about yourself and look for the other's failure.

  • o cutiful911... Knife crimes happen in every country I've been to UK and Thailand British police is very professional but Thai police is rude and very corrupts. That women might be a thieve but Thai police is worse than her Thai police always abuse their power to do what they want.

  • What makes you think and say that "these couple are thieves"? Have you watched the video? Don't think so.

  • Thai police are extremely corrupts . I've been to many countries Thai police definitely is the rudest and inefficient. Knife crimes in Singapore too, but police here will never let them go!

  • The fact, these people did the shoplift at the airport. I don't think the CCTV Video clip has been edited.

If I were the Thai government, I would sponsor them to come back to Thailand again and help in finding "Tony." If Tony does exist in this world for real. I will believe them.

Another thing I see in the world these days is "IT Expert" is the common career people put, when they cannot think of anything else. Everybody seems to be IT Expert these days, as shoplifter is not accepta

  • Shoplifter is not acceptable but police corrupts is outrages.

  • I can't tell ! But IF she did, the lack of Embassy assistance, any judicial hearing and no rights to legal assistance should be an eye-opener for all travelers. Also because the Thai police are the on-the-spot enforcer, judge and jury and took it to the level of extortion then the "goes around, comes around" karmic phrase is in effect here as the worldwide corrupt behavior of the Thai Police has come back to bite them and King Power in the proverbial 'arse'.

  • If any of you have seen Thai TV shows. You can see there they are not good at video editing. You can see the edit at :29 and they don't even show the entire video. Like what other people have said EVEN if they did shoplift, they themselves were extorted from by the police. Animal Control at Suvarnabhumi also are corrupt so please don't even think of taking your pets here as they will not release them until you give them some "Tea" money.

  • regardless of whether she shoplifted or not, the Thai police/authorities are clearly corrupt. If you read how this couple were mistreated and had to pay more than £7000! The evidence itself is flimsy. I thought Thai ppl were welcoming and honest, clearly I have been mis-informed. I am going to Thailand in November and will at this airport a total of 4 times - I'm not going anywhere near the duty free!!

  • Thats what I thought before I go to Thailand I thought Thai people were friendly, welcoming and I heard a lot that Thailand is "land of smile" but after spent a few years there I change my mind completely.Thai people can do anything just to get the money, if you tell them no money their smile go soul.

  • Excuse me, pls don't say thai people can do anything just to get money it's not all thai .. if i say taiwanese eat so loud and really dirty .. that shouldn't be right either .. if you don't like thailand you shouldn't stay there over 4 years ..

  • If you go to places like Khao San road don't aspect police there help you they only help Thai people. I saw an Israeli bloke beaten by 3 Thai men in Khao San rd police came but do nothing except asking the Thai men stop beating that Israeli bloke, his nose was bleeding the police didn't ask anything and left. Thailand is a beautiful country if you be careful you surely would have a nice holiday

  • She picks the purse up, puts it down, picks it back up, walks around the other side with it, places it down, waits for the right moment, then picks it back up and puts it in her bag...then scarpers. Her husband is moving around in a pretty shifty way as well!

  • If you are caught shoplifting in Thailand you get the choice of going to court which can take several months, or, negotiating a *fine* with the store you shoplifted from, they negotiated the *fine*.

  • Regardless of whether she stole the item or not, the extortion they suffered is the real issue in question. The corruption of the Thai police and Thai vendors is what really needs to be discussed.

  • the video appears to be both unclear and edited

7500 pounds fine for a ten pounds item with no court hearing, no judge, no representative from the UK embassy???

  • Agreed, but forget any help from the Embassy, they will not get involved in the legal process.

  • form the recording, it seems they Bangkok police may not be wrong...the only wrongdoing is that they were suspected of corruption

  • Corruption and general nastiness of Thai police and judiciary is not in question and has to be part of the deal when you decide to go there but don't complain afterwards when you decide to break the law then get robbed by theiving Thai police.

  • At 0:28 she adjusts her bag so it does not drop from her shoulder, but that's all. Do you see any place where she puts something into her bag?

  • 'Adjusts' bag with object in her hand which does not reappear.

  • why does the video jump around 29 second in lookslike its been altered

  • Doesn't look it to me. Seems pretty conclusive. Waving a non Thai passport and saying boo hoo to the press doesn't really guarantee innocence. OK they have a rubbish police and judicial system but if you shoplift then you can't complain.

  • Is the woman innocent?

  • Ive had to stay in this country for around a year now, and I'm sick of some of the shit that goes on here. greed, law with know logic. no common sense and complete disregard for safety on the roads. I always believed before that know country would cause me to miss the uk that much, but Thailand has finally done it.
