@dancinkindofguy That shows you are a zionist nazi! The first one ever! I laugh at movies where the "bad guys" leave good cover to get easily shot...have you seen the Movie "Windtalkers"? The Japs constantly make it easy for that lousy acting Nicolas Cage to shoot em up!
@BoyJewish Oh the Germans and Japanese ALWAYS run for a better position; they've been doing that in movies ever since WW2. Indians in old westerns too. Funny you mention Cage; last week on SNL he was on Weekend Update with the guy who imitates him and was making fun of his own movies. You should check out the video of it.
This was a very interesting battle sequence. Before it ends, it goes into slow motion and observes the resulting casualties on both sides simultaneously.
@whatthfuhuman - You thumbed me. How exciting. Defending German civilians I will grant you, but the entire German army? So you believe Hitler & a couple of other guys killed millions? That's just crazy.
@mildred2258 You're failing to make the distinction between Party members operating in death squads and conscripts serving in the regular infantry. whathefuhman was probably referring to the latter.
@dkanrjskgo They had to steal a prototype gyroscope that was going to be used on a german V-2, blowing it up would be foolish as they wanted the technology.
I thought they would show the entire attack, including the slow-motion scenes right before it ended and the train went in reverse. Stil brings back incredible memories of when I first saw this movie. Great and exciting scene!
lol this film is bullshit no offense to fans, i tried to get the film 'Inglorious Bastards' (2009) but htey sent me this shite and i thought it was some kind of parody war film.
Well, Hitler surely acted as a madman when he ordered his generals to stand and fight to the last bullet, instead of drawing back and regroup. He wasted hundreds of thousands of young Germans totally unnesessarily. He also was responsible for massmurder of millions of civilians, and not only jewes, but many others.
Yes Hirosima and Nakasaki never happend. Bombing Dresden and killing thousends of civilians was neceserry to win the war in 1945 (Churchill wanted it). Serving out half of Europe to Stalins red horde was needed! Communism killed 100 million people!!! USA and its allies are also guilty!!!
Yes, all of the fighting nations killed civilian people, but I don't think that USA and Britain, as a rule, executed civilians as revenge for killed soldiers. Civilians die when the soldiers drop bombs. More people died in Tokyo bombings than in Hiroshima. Of course no one is without guilt, but still, Hitler was a madman!
@YDDES well, what do you expect from a whacked out head.... on top of that he was whacked out of his mind on a cocktail of drugs during the final year of the war.
my grandmother helped english and canadian soldiers during ww2,i am proud off her,she told us that she could not trust anybody those times.the people stayed in her house and in the fields round her farm.she always said it was a terrible time.
My grandfather was in the war too. He was with the partizans fighting Italy and Germany. My coutry is closest to Italy out of all the countries on the south. Even today when I watch documentories I feel sick when I see what the Italians did to us. And then they made a movie about WW2 and they made partizans look like the bad people. Like we invaded Italy and bombed their cities. But my grandfather survived with one bullet in the back and one in the leg. He died at the age of 99. I miss him.
My Great- Grandfather was in the same situation as that of Attk17's Grandfather. He did not desire to go to war and he didn't like many of Hitler's motives. These asswipes such as Tarantino make it seem like all Germans are to blame for the war.
Your grandfather should have not liked "any" of Hitler's motives. And Tarantino's movie is targeting the Nazi party. NOT the whole of the German population. You need to face something...what Hitler pulled off was the worst example of genicide known to man and it's recorded for all time with film and pictures. Pretty damning of Germany then and for years to come. Germany let themselves be guided by a mad man and you're still paying for it. May be a black mark on the country forever.
you don't know what you're talking about. my grandfather was soldier, too. he killed many people but wasn't a fucking nazi. he was just in war and didnt kill the jews so whats the crime? you guys also killed. almost every german soldier was just a husband with a wife. the nazis made my grandfather loose his leg and kill about 800 amis and russians, because he worked a lot with the mg 42. do you think he liked it? he always sees those guys he killed in his nightmares.
you should not judge the motives of people you know nothing about. how dare you sit there with your pompous veiws damning a whole nation because of the actions of some. why not judge the british for the creation of concentration camps? every country has there fair share of unspeakable deads, so take your head out of your arse and stop acting like a little child
Good Lord Squid. Take it down about a thousand. I'm judging HITLER'S motives. I'm judgding his closest followers motives. And now you're going to try to tell me this is all the fault of the british. Please. Pick up a book and close your yap long enough to learn something. I'm NOT condemning all of Germany. That's crazy.
"Pretty damning of Germany then and for years to come. Germany let themselves be guided by a mad man and you're still paying for it. May be a black mark on the country forever." but your not condemning a nation are you?
Ok...I should have re-read my orig. comment. You're absolutely right and I'm absolutely wrong. That comment really does throw all of Germany under the bus and that is wrong. Dead wrong. However what is true is the damage suffered by Germany because of Hitler and the Nazis is fact of life. Be mad at me for a stupid comment, but you need to be crazy mad at Hitler and those who followed him as if he were God.
Even then its hard to be mad. When you look closely at how exactly Hitler seized power, the kinds of tactics he used, it becomes starkly apparent that the majority of German people werent voluntarily signed up for the ride. Especially after he had control, the kinds of propaganda and laws made were to the utmost extreme to quash voices of opposition, and brainwash the public.
You've summed it up perfectly Greap. Students, scholars and right thinking people in Germany at that time were immediately put to death. Not to mention almost 1,000 soldiers serving close to him toward the end of the war who tried and failed to assasinate him.
You know little about history. Hitler wanted to get rid of the Versailles Treaty which was reasonable. Even president Wilson thought this treaty was
unfair as it forced millions of Germans to live under foreign, hostile governments which were treating them very badly. And Hitler wasn't the only politician in history to start a war, neither was he the only one to kill millions of civilians. The USA were even willing to wipe out the whole manking in 1962 when they prepared for a nuclear war.
Wow. An idiot defending Hiltlers right to have taken a breath. Hitler was a a mad man. The top ranks in the SS, men who sat next to him every day tried to end this man. I don't think they attempted that because they were a litte "pissed" at him. You're also a history idiot. I'm guessing you're what, 15? JFK in 1962-try looking up what Castro was doing at the same time for the answer. Hitler killed 7 million civilians because they were Jewish. He was insane. You don't know a damn thing.
It wasnt the "top ranks of the SS" who wanted to kill Hitler, it were some Wehrmacht officers who wanted to end the war. This proves that all you know about history is from bad Hollywood movies. Surely Hitler was as brutal as Stalin or Mao who killed millions of civilians too, but mad? It is rather mad to get ready for a nuclear global holocaust like JFK! Today, the USA are the greatest threat for peace and mankind. Hollywood just keeps on blaming the Nazis to ward off from this fact.
Simply because he wasn't the only person to do it doesn't excuse it. We don't excuse rapists or serial murderers, even if others have committed the same acts.
@Imij11: But you excuse your own former president. If the Nazis were sentenced to death for starting a war, why not GWB and his gang for invading Iraq? It's a long tradition in the US to excuse their own war criminals. F. e. William Calley, the officer in charge when the massacre of My Lai took place in 1968 (some 500 dead civilians) is living as a free man in Atlanta. His only punishment in the 70's was a 3-year house arrest. Not a single one of his soldiers was accused.
Dude, I wasn't defending my presidents, I was just pointing out the logical flaw in your statement.
I personally thing that Bush is one of our country's worst presidents (ever) and am perfectly aware of the USA's long history of deplorable violence, but I am pretty strongly opposed to anyone who tries to defend Hitler.
The only logical flaw is in your statement, cause you said "we don't excuse criminals if others have committed the same acts". But that is plain stupid. A war criminal will be punished only if his army lost the war, see William Calley or Bush. That's what makes the difference between hero and villain.
@mildred2258 You clearly show no sign of information what so ever about Hitlers way to power in Germany, the majority of the German people did not WANT to join the "National Socialistische Deutsche Arbeiderpartei" because of their own beliefs. But since they did not join they were set up for gruesomme events which would be (example) torture, death or loss of nearest people. Furthermore the German Wehrmacht (the German army) did not commit genocide or had the same ideology as Hitler did.
@whathefuhman It was the Waffen SS who appeared a couple of days later to the territory the Wehrmacht have conquered, and committed genocide, killing civillians, enslaving citizens and burning properties.
@whathefuhman - What to say, what to say? Thinking all American's gleem our knowledge of world history from movies is idiotic. Seriously idiotic. There is absolutely nothing you can do to defend the Hitler years. Nothing. Zero. He was a serial killer with the populations of entire countries as targets and an army at his disposal that he used to slice open the throats of millions. PERIOD. Tell yourself whatever you need to get through the night, but nothing will change these facts.
@mildred2258 I am in no way trying to defend Hitler, i simply hate him. I am defending the German army and the German people, not Hitler. Please read what i write next time and comprehend it. And yes, i thumbed up your comment.
