DCLXVI was a real fuckin eye opener for teenaged kid from Finland back in time. Before Entombed basicly only thing I knew that came from Swerige was our dearest enemy and "Oh so hated" Tre kronor. Through this band I found bunch of great bands like Edge of sanity, At the gates, In flames and many more.

I remember when I got a promo-copy of the album "to ride, shoot straight and speak the truth" back in fall 1996. At that time I didn´t listen at all to Entombed but Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth had some year earlier said on Swedish television that he thought they were worth checking out so I did. I listened with no expectations to the CD and was blown away by it.

Amazingly great even more than ten years later. I tell you: It is one of the greatest albums of the 1990´s.

Entombed frustrate me as when they are good they are the absolute best but at least half their stuff is not nearly as good as when there on it. But when they're on it, it doesn't get any better. Even though there's a lot of good stuff on Uprising I don't think they've been as good since Nikki left. I think he had a big influence on guitar riffs and arrangements.

Yes, Nicke Andersson was a big influence with Entombed. Anything he is involved in turns to gold. Whether it is death metal, metal, soul, rock - he is one of the greats. A multi-talented songwriter, musician and performer who still to this day has not got the proper credit he deserves. Too much superlative? It's not. Also a subtle and modest guy who chooses not to flaunt anything he has done. On the stage and on records. There's where it's at!
