Try one of those baby nose-sucker things with the squeezy ball on the end--the thing they use to suck snot out of baby's noses. Suck distilled water and salt up into the ball, then squirt it up your nose, then blow it out into the sink. It costs two dollars and is easier to work with.
Hehehe! If you make the "K" sound with your mouth you will seal off your throat, and it will just go out your nose. Also, non-iodized salt is recommended.
May I make a suggestion, use a plastic bottle with a sports screw top and just squeeze the water through the top it is less messy, that is what I do. But thanks that ingenious also

Do be careful not to tilt your head too much back, you need to bend forward so that you can avoid getting any water in your ear canals.

Don't ever tilt your head back cause the water will get to your mouth.
And while you insert the water in your nose you gotta breathe through your mouth so it would be able to sucessfully exit the other nostril.
I had to practice this once I get a nose piercing.
