  • zaten bu reklamin bir de ingilizcesini yayinlamak bu reklamin arkasindaki mantik ile ne kadar da uyusuyor. iraq demokrasisi aq... kalsin istemez....

  • Democracies always lead to dictatorships once the people figure out they can vote in politicians, and with them special interests, to raid the treasury.

This is why the USA was a Republic, where only the gifted could vote, and control the destiny of the nation. Now we are controlled by the interests of the super rich. Was allowing women the right to vote such a good idea? Noble, but not such a good idea, as women are always looking for a provider. Socialism never worked!

  • Your idea if democracy or atleast your "original" is a typical western democracy not all democracies. Democracy simply means that the people elect who they want to be the leader. You can have a "liberal" or "religious" democracy it depends on how you define it.

  • What a wonderful idea ! I LOVED the video

  • This is a great commercial and smart expression of a political ideal. I fully support and pray for this in Turkey and every place in the world.

  • There is no original democracy any country. Lie + Self aim + Forgery + Shameless = Politics In everywhere... But at first i wanna bring democracy to USA, but like for them, like their style. They need it.

  • Very creative advertisement.

  • fuck akp and erdogan,

  • The map of democracy in the world is strange! Norway is not free but Russia is free?

  • Norway is also "orange" in the map.

  • i cannot beliiiiiieve it! once we have it, we can start exporting it as well! haaha

  • akp and erdogan are the only hope for Turkey. Fascists and communists like Ahmet Sezer and Baykal are the greatest danger Turkey faces. That said, if Christian terrorists like Merkel and Sarkozy refuse to cooperate with Turkey, we will not bend our knees. Make no mistake about it.

  • denominating some political figures by extreme notions like 'fascist', 'communist' and 'terrorist', and positioning another political figure as 'the only hope', you are talking from inside politics, labelling people as good/evil or black/white, like in a fairy tale. we can approach to reality in a simplistic manner, like stripping it down to a fairy tale, and it ceases to be reality anymore.

  • Unfortunately there are many people that try to exploit the name of Ataturk in order to promote individual gain at the expense of the Turkish people. They sell the lie that they are promoting secularism and try to stir up fears of an Islamic takeover in order to fool people into helping them retain their corrupt power.

  • These people are most similar to fascists; working for rich companies and foreign sponsors at the expense of the people, while using emotional nationalist slogans to support their aims. We have to be based in reality, but that does not mean that the corrupt elite can not be seen for what it is.

  • NEW YORK TIMES - 19 July 07

When a liberal newspaper asked for a response to the ads, Ferhat Tumer, a 32-year-old advertising designer, and his colleagues at the ad agency Cocuklar began to brainstorm.

The result was a one-minute cartoon in the style of a late-night American television ad that only two Turkish television channels were willing to broadcast but that became a cult favorite overnight on the Internet.

  • "Is thinking a crime? Speech not allowed? Is your society excluding you, or forcing you to take sides?" the salesman-style voice-over asks in staccato Turkish. "Move away from fragile systems that are easily toppled. Original Democracy, adhered to by millions around the world, is now available in Turkey!"

  • wtf?

just for reminder, same newspaper also supported Leyla Zana, an anti-turk lady, as a hero!

  • Leyla Zana (born May 3, 1961), is a former female Turkish politician of Kurdish origin, who was imprisoned for speaking Kurdish in the Turkish Parliament

  • mtmember, c'mon she isn't anti-turkish. She is for a peaceful resolution to the conflict between Turks and Kurds. How does that make her anti-Turkish?

  • The problem with her is that she expresses respect for the PKK. That wont fly in Turkey. It is like a senetor calling Osama a brave man. He would be thrown to the dogs. Well, we have our own national sensativities, and if one wished to be a part of the system, they have to play by the rules, both written and understood.

  • than what? sell turkey in cannes?

  • i want it in turkey urgently!!

  • Unfuckingbelievable, love you my homeland.

  • To needsmoreritalin: with that attitude you'll have it much worse. Keep it up. Europe is much freer than the US, and even Turkey, India and Thailand have a lot of freedoms that US citizzens can't imagine. Stay on the Ritalin/soma.

  • Freud55, you need to wake up and smell the reality. Despite George Bush, the Patriot Act, and the other affronts to democracy this administration is responsible for, the U.S. is STILL one of the freest countries in the world.

  • I'm from India. Yes, India is a free country and I am proud of it. But the government in India still routinely censors literature and media which is critical of religion (any religion) on the grounds that it could cause communal disharmony (not entirely unjustified considering the carnage of the post-independence partition of India).

And as for Thailand, it's ruled by a military junta that toppled the democratically elected government less than a year ago, enough said ...

  • I haven't been to Europe so I can't comment, but even many European countries restrict free speech such as denying the holocaust which is a prosecutable crime in many European nations, again probably understandably so due to the history.

But the reality is that the United States is free. George Bush and his Republicans cronies haven't taken that away from us.

  • Even with our current administration being so disconnected from reality, we have it a lot better than most people.

  • hey! i want that here in the usa! can we get rid of the fascists and have that here????? pleaseeee?????
