@zand33 I'm not so keen on 3 because it's campaign felt more like Age of Mythology than Empires. It had characters rather than historical personalities.

@TehOrkyMan Yes, and not only that, but even the missions themselves were actually replicated from AoM. AoE3 had the chance to deliver a very-well written campaign in one of the most interesting periods of history. They could have made a campaign about Christopher Columbus, Herman Cortez (like in Conquerors), about genocide. About the American revolution. About Napoleonic Wars. Instead what they did was a silly, superficial fairytale, with boring characters and stupid plot.

The AoE music is just the best i ever heard in any game... And its the only one I will remember for the rest of my life...

Nowdays the first thing you do in a game is turning the "Music" button to 0 and throw some shit in media player...

aoe 1 is good, aoe 2 is the best, but imo aoe 3 is nothing compared to 2 :(

Aoe1 had many flaws with the AI, too slow and simplistic gameplay and horribly low population limit.

Most AOE fans agreed Kings is the best, and I agree with them. :)

i think Age of empire 1 was more creative. It created a new genre of games.

All the other "Age of's" are just add ons to me.

dude i think you soo right games companys spend more time on over thins now and cut things out like music, back in the day with aoe1 cnc ect ect we had it all graphics game play story line! and best of all the music!!
