Doogie for me was a "replacement" singer or in that category. Good but not spectacular vocals. Nothing super memorable about his voice. Mark, Joe, Jeff and Michael all had that "something" that made their vocals stand out as unique. Mats leven and Doogie and Goran for me were in the "average" category. Does anyone else feel this way?
I'd disagree tbh. Mike's voice really irritated me, Mark Joe and Jeff were great though. Goran was great for the mellow stuff in the studio but he couldn't sing live to save himself. Dougie, I think his voice in the studio is amazing, only Jeff on Inspiration is better imo.
i liked mike V. but he was off sometimes live. but doogie isnt all that great. when i saw him its wasnt special. i did like very one else about equal. but i gotta say Soto was my favorite
agreed, he misses out too much live and is getting a bit old. but as for in the studio he is great. yjm wouldn't keep him if he didn't sing the proper lyrics, i bet he probably isn't that bothered about the lyrics in the booklets being 100% correct. goran rocked in the studio, but has to be yjm's worst singer live!!
great perfomance. fuckyalife, i agree with most comments you make, buy what don't you like about dougie? what do you think of his voice in the studio?
well i like his voice in the studio except for songs like stronghold. although he was great on songs like "in the name of God". he just doesnt speak the complete sentences that are in the lyrics that yngwie writes. he half-asses it, if i will say. he leaves half the words out, and i just think yngwie can find a better singer still. crown of thorns is good too, but hes just too old i think, yngwie keeps him around because of his obsession with anything to do with deep purple
I was more inclined to assume that there was too many lyrics lol. If he sand every word as written then he'd never get a break when doing them live. And it would sound rather rushed vocally... that was how I took it though. but I agree theres plenty words missing from the vocals on the records when compared to the lyrics in the booklets.
well i could understand leaving a few lyrics out live to save energy, but not on the album. i mean look at the fire and ice album, forever is a long time. theres a ton of lyrics in there and goran pronounces each one. i duno...
yngwie playing OUTSIDE in the DAY on a BIG stage!? WOW! im so glad to see him fit up and running around again its great to see. doogie fuckin blows in this song wtf yngwie get a new singer please. btw that outro wasnt 100% insync?

Doogie is no good for Yngwie! Mike Vescera is a fastastic singer! Very powerful and distinctive.

I was there, Doogie was almost without voice, and Yngwie had several technical problems.
Good show though.
I heard Doogie two years earlier and he was much better.
