I think from memory, the driver turned out to be a police officer so knew the PIT technique and knew how to recover the car. In USA they can but them off the road, in the UK if the poor little car thief hurts themselves with the nasty policeman chasing them we have to have a major enquiry. If it was up to me I would stuff every "stolen vehicle not stopping" into the nearest wall and kill the little shit behind the wheel so we dont have to pay for their imprisonment or cost of clear up
