For a young program like Rockhurst, you guys are making ends meat pretty well. Does anyone on the bass line own a metronome? It may be useful to you, and to your whole line. Many times I heard you guys way out of the tempo given by the center. Also, how long have all of you been playing? I think you should try out matched grip. It'll make you snare sound much more even and crisp. Maybe try to fine tune your drums a little more too, that'll take away a lot of mud too.
@DCB9991 thanks man, yeah the basses were sloppy but we got better as the year went on. This was our first feature so we just threw some crap together. that group had played together for less than a month before that. I was debating matched grip last year but I think this year I'll try to switch it up. Yeah we are a private school so without state funding the music department kind of gets the short end of the stick. the drums are 6 years old, the bass drum heads or several years old
wow....that was awful.......our sm east drumline will light you up when we play you in basketball this year....your snares sound like they are from like the 1980's.....they have a horrible sound!

just give credit where credit is due, it's called Ditty 2 and we got it from University of Nebraska, there's a ditty 1 to go with it and we do another Nebraska cadence, also not in the video, called strut. if you search strut some videos will come up.
when UN does dittty 2 the bass drum intro is done in 32nd notes, it's badass
Did I just read a "no girls" comment? Funny how we won't even go NEAR your women. AND as you pointed out - we DO have both STA AND Sion girls ALL to ourselves... boy if i were you I'd just give up.

you don't do anything musical at you school bc your school has nothing musical!! which means no drumline!! your football team sucks, you're too scared to play us and your girls are disgusting (I went to school with a lot of them I know how bad they are) you guys didn't even have lights at the stadium (I use that word loosely) till a couple years ago. And Btw piano isn't accepted in what ever our music program is referred to (guessing band). which school did you attend b4 HS?
