  • the 3rd gen camaros are among the most iconic bodystyles and easily recognizable. one of my favorite cars. going to a bigger engine is always good of course, especially in this case as it is the legendary chevy 350! i hope you are going forward they way you planned with your nice project here and that you will be having tons of fun with it in the process and of course after that on the road. greets from germany.

  • Nice interior man that's sweet

  • wow that porno red interior screams! lol nice ride though

  • sounds mean

  • i got a question how hard is it to swap it from v6 to v8... can i use the 6cyl trans and drive line, stock fuel pump or any of it cause im lookin at an 90rs and im gonna be on a real tight budget

  • i like everything on the car but the rims they need to go get some cragers or iroc rims

  • @3rd4thgenFbody We got some new ones a couple weeks ago - 245s on the front and 285s in the rear! I'm sure i'll put a video up eventually. (We had to bump the rear fenders a couple times with a hammer for the 285s to have a safe amount of clearance btw)

  • Guys Listen To This Song Leroy The Big Lipped Nigger Johnny Rebel

  • Got an 80 series in my 350 89 Firebird Formula that sounds almost exactly like this.

  • how much was the total to swap everything?

  • @MegaCamarors Tell you what.Don't get a shop to do it if they get paid by the hour!!

  • hey i have a 3.1... also was it very hard to change out the 3.1 for 5.7 350?? what changes did you have to do besides chaging the motor mounts.

  • @unraveledfaun There was a LOT that we had to do other than change the motor mounts! We had to swap out the transmission, custom bend our fuel lines because the fuel pump is on the other side of an SBC. We also had to drop the fuel tank (which means also removing the entire rear suspension) to change the fuel pickup. Theres more, but its mostly simple compatibility fixes. All told it took about 2 weeks worth of work.

  • @Target262 buddy thats def a 305 its got centerbolt valve covers and sounds just like mine wich is a 305 with the same mufflers a 350 has a deeper rumble and dnt make that cackle after it revs

  • @100montecarloss

Dude, if you were in my back pocket when I built the engine, you would have seen the block casting # 3970010. 1970 vintage from a Chevelle.secondly, those centre bolt valve covers came with the 58cc Corvette aluminum cyl. heads I bought back in 1989.Where were you in 89' ?? besides @ 11:1 comp. it may just cackle !!! How would you deal with that compression ?? If youd have built it from the ground up, you'd know !

  • @Target262 ur gonna try and bull shit me and tell me ur runnin 11:1 with that small of a cam and a motor that revs that slow damn son u aint doin to hot

  • @100montecarloss 87 UP 350S ALSO HAVE THE CENTER BOLT VALVE COVERS I HAVE A 79 350 4 BOLT MAIN WITH A SET OF 1990 TRUCK HEADS CENTER BOLT VALVE COVERS AND THEM LOOK TO BE ALUMINUM HEADS NEVER SEEN A 305 WITH ALUMINUM HEADS

  • @MIKE84CAMARO mine does thats how i know these things if that was a 350 with flow 40s itd have a lot deeper and it dont even have a cam in it i know these things off sound cause this is what i do for a living build the shit out of engines if thats a 350 ill kiss your ass it sounds exactly like my car cam and all exept mines deeper and louder cause i have single chamb flows now when i get my 350 goin illl show yall sum bitches what a real 350 sounds like

  • is this a true dual exhaust if not how did you mount the 40 series ? Please help me out i love the sound of that engine.

  • @ColoradoCamaro

Nope, its not true duals just a single 3 inch Y pipe. Flowmaster sells the 40 series in the stock third gen muffler configuration. I'm sure they can accomodate whatever you need!

  • Comment removed

  • @olstarr1 hard as shit. i wouldnt do it. get an older malibu a rear wheel drive. get the right engine mounts and you'll be done in like maybe 4 days if you really like to take your time.

  • should've had a v8 =)

  • shoot, you up an did some real good work on this car. my summer/main project is my 82 camaro and im droppin a 327 in there, and runnin flow 40's. who did yalls interrior? just curious. anyway, im really diggin it man, good job and much respect.

  • @tyvanvleet Thanks, man! do you have any videos of your project up? 327s can be great! The interior is stock, but fairly well taken care of!

  • @Target262 i dont have any videos up yet, but i will try to get one posted up for ya soon. i love em, especially the short journal ones out of the vettes haha. man, that interior looks great, you can tell you take care of it.

  • damn you did a nice job with the engine there

  • Yeh I'm definetly gonna put those on my 83 when it's all fixed up but its before all that efi bullcrap was in all of them and no airbags

  • @nickrd10bk

Flowmasters are allright, but check out some of the cherry bomb stuff! They sound pretty good. Right now we have the same flowmaster on in this video, but also a Cherrybomb glasspack where the cat would be, sounds real good. Cutout after the bomb coming soon!

  • why didnt you just buy an iroc?

  • nice scraper man .mines only a 305 tho........

  • Very nice car and sound

  • i have a similiar set up in a 1981 t-top firebird trans am =] it sounds pretty nice too, i might have to throw a vid up about it sometime =]

  • sounds good man, put it up!

  • man im talkin about on a fuckin TBI not a carb numbnuts fuckin idiot i kno the difference...shit

  • no need to be angry, that was four months ago.. either way you sure dont look good calling people numbnuts!!

  • hahaha fliiped plate down so you couldnt see it? but when he bends down you can lol

  • lol we figured it might be a good idea, but obviously it didnt work out. shit happens it works for speed traps ;)

  • Nice car man, i have an 84 Z28 myself and just bought a 350 for it, going to start rebuilding soon. I have wanted to put a monster tach in the same spot you have yours, was it difficult to mount? How stable is it? Thanks bro

  • thanks, the tach is actually not mounted at all! we fabricated a little slot that we fixed onto the tach and we slid the whole thing inside the gap between the radio and the panel above it. It hasnt moved an inch yet, so its pretty stable. There are some dash kits for third gens though, that might be your best bet because our stock RPM gauge doesnt work anymore.

  • Thanks man!

  • what all did u have to swap for the 350 like the tranny or rad?

  • oh man, it must have taken 3 weeks non stop to do everything. Fan stayed the same, but it was a very very tight fit, we broke a chunk off of it by accident. Tranny was taken from a 88 trans am, rearend also came out of that car, but we ended up keeping the stock rear end. (for now) We had to plumb new fuel line because the fuel pump is on the opposite side on a SBC. Also a longer pickup in the fuel tank was added. New motor mounts of course. I would reccomend (if possible) starting with a V8 car

  • It was a lot more than just swapping the 350 in and out though, we also took the whole rear suspension out in order to put the new rear end in, the exhaust system had to come out etc etc. taking it apart is really easy, but putting it back together? not so much :p

  • yeah i have a 91 rs 3.1 and its only got 117,000 miles so i want to keep that till it dies and the bodies in really good shape so once the 3.1's gone i want to do a 350 so thanks

  • @Target262

ive got an 83 camaro that no joke i wanted to do the same thing too but i got a 400 in it so.....how much did it cost you all together for that nice ride

  • 3500$ for the car to start, then about 5000$ for the motor, since the heads (L98) were bought when brand new so they were really expensive. Total Cost Involved would be around 10,000 bucks. Hey did you ever consider putting a 3.48 stroke in that 400? 377 ci and they love to rev.

  • well i don't want to put anything else as far as the displacment or stroke cuz 400 smallblock is about as big as it gets and it will cost alot of money for not much difference. But i love this generation camaro always the best

  • the 3.48 stroke is a 350 crank, all you need is spacers for it to fit

  • yeah i see what your saying im definitly doin that lol i want the fastest chevy smallblock in my area but that shouldnt be too hard cuz everybody here has a honda civic or accord

  • thats a hell of a camaro man.

  • K&N air filters are like rock catchers :\ they just allow more airflow but dont really filter anything....a TRUE cold air intake will make a difference not a hot hair intake like leave it under the hood suckin in like 200 degree F air instead of havin it below the chasis or somethin where fresh air can get to it

  • And just how the fuck is he suppose to put a CAI on a carburetor genius? His only options are cowl hood or hood w/ a hood scoop to get colder air. Or convert into EFI then he can put a CAI on his throttle body.

  • no need to be rude to him, I was actually considering modifying a fiberglass Z28 hood to act as a cold-er air intake.

  • for the exhaust? Or an air filter?

    not sure what you mean

  • k&N would make a world of difference on there
