  • RIP Nicol

  • Am I the only one NOT here for school?

  • @erikasofia2 It sure as hell looks like it.. Almost at least o.O

  • fuck am i the only student that's here cause of school ?

  • I have a test in 8 hours on this

  • Whoa okay, why do Gertrude and Hamlet look around the same age??

  • She's his... mother? o.O

  • Horatio's glasses are from World of Vision. I could see the price tag string on it too. Further, it has their latest innovation: tiny spectacle wipers, not unlike windshield wipers, but just large enough to cover the lens and wash it clean in a rain. I think Marcellus, though, was using contact lenses from Pearle Vision. I could recognize the style. Hamlet is a student in the play, but looks older than Claudius, and thus we can conclude he's been left back many times due to a rebellious nature.

  • At 70 yrs. of age...and at 75 yrs.of age Novello enacts Hamlet soliloquys

    in English and Italian

    ignato100

  • fuck...big boobies turn me on...

  • What the hell are they saying

  • okay so i had to read this book for a.p lit and to tell u guys the truth it wasn't even that good(no offense to all of you that liked it) i hope the movie is better!

  • This is the best version of Hamlet for me. Ok, so it helped me gain an English A-level, but it's great in its own right.

Yes, Judy Parfitt is a very fetching Gertrude. :)

  • I am sick of seeing middle aged Hamlets. When i read hamlet, i see him as in his mid twenties tops....

  • @erynb

so age 31 is now middle aged?

  • @AROYE ....yes....

well maybe not, but his appearance conflicts with my expectations of who Hamlet is.

I didn't like this rendition of Hamlet. Her is far too mechanical and lacks the emotional expression required to do his character justice.

  • And btw, Hamlet IS 30 years of age! You can deduce that from what the grave digger and Hamlet himself say in the grave yard scene. Doesn't matter, what you imagined him to be like, when you read it. Hamlet is 30 and he is fat. And it was for a reason that he was sent away to Germany; because he is absolutely incapable of ruling a country.

  • why the blazes is Claudius wearing earrings? (Several important lines were cut, and one line is rendered as a sexual innuendo, when Shakespeare clearly meant it not so).

  • i gotta read all scenes for winter break

  • @diazjd93videos ive been sick i have to read all of it by tomarrow....

  • Damn it, I gotta write an essay on this crap.

  • Want to boost your site sales? My advice would be the GAS system,Because all others require you to have very good programming skills,GAS-AFFILIATEdotCOM is where it's at.

  • yeah if any one in round rock high school is watching this video

    english 4 is bs

  • As much as I love Nicole Williamson, I just cant get past the fact that Hamlet looks more like he could be Gertrude's father.

  • Mmm, this is very unusual Hamlet. But I like it, Williamson's acting is incredibly natural.

  • what the hell is with the guy who plays hamlet?

  • fuck i have a test tomorrow on this shit

  • @mitchqqqqqq hhaha best quote ever.

  • @mitchqqqqqq haha same, hsc?

  • Hopkins makes a great Claudius, but this Hamlet just LOOKS too old. I haven't seen the whole thing, but his Hamlet looks too cerebral perhaps. That's why I still love Olivier's performance..

  • WERE DOIN DIS PLAY :P

  • no no no no. oh this is horrible is voice just isnt right for this role, hes too much of a modern actor i think.

  • that's one of the things I like about Williamson's performance, but each to his own.

  • Near the end of the play, it is revealed that Hamlet is 30 years old.

  • u guys do know that Hamlet was lie 16 or like 18 years old right? THen why is it being played by a 40 year old who looks older than Claudius?

  • Well, the grave digger tells Hamlet that Yorick's been dead for 23 years, and Hamlet remembers Yorick well, remembers being carried on his shoulders, etc.

  • Hamlet is 30.

  • Nicpl Williamson is too old & lacks charisma to play Hamlet.

  • Would you please post the entire film? Marianne Faithfull play Ophelia, no?

  • Bobbins. Not a patch on old Olivier.

  • this interpretation of Hamlet is quite strange as he lacks the assertive aggression of the mentally unstable and focus on misty melancholia

  • Nicol is FAR less melancholy than previous Hamlets. You can see the anger underneath his eyes. I like it.

  • Interesting. I just have trouble sympathizing with a guy that age being so affected by his mother re-marrying after the death of his father. He should go back to Wittenberg and find himself a girlfriend, for chrissakes!

  • @grcirca1985 he should go back to Wittenberg? He deserves to be on the throne! his uncle stole the crown, laughs like a jolly rejoicing fool, and his mother plays along with him. It's disgraceful and disgusting, not to mention shocking to one's depths and you say he should go back to Wittenberg? Revenge!

  • Haha, You're absolutely right, I don't even remember writing that--so off base and out of character! I was playing Claudius at the time so I imagine I was just pissed off, frustrated, and sick of having to listen to Hamlet's bitching every day. But yeah, I'm %100 with you emerset!

  • This version commits the one single cardinal sin that makes so many versions of Hamlet suck: WHY THE HELL IS HAMLET AN OLD MAN!!????? In the story he's about 18-25 but in so many versions of the play he's characterized by some bald or white headed actor, dressed like a priest...Cladius is amazing though.

  • I think the text tells us that Hamlet is thirty years old. The gravedigger says that he's been at it for thirty years, since Hamlet was born.

  • Well good, that's still no reason to cast him as some wrinkled geriatric with grey (or no) hair.

  • my favorite hamlet.

  • Claudius looks way younger than Hamlet. sick!

  • He truly does!! How on earth did they overlook that?! lol. Maybe the recent shocks in his life aged him badly?

  • hmm don't really like the soliloquy

  • Gertrude is a MILF.

  • @jermd1990 And you're a scoundrel.

  • @Jitpring Indeed.

  • @jermd1990 And you're unashamed of it. Verily, you're utterly conformed to this base age, whose epitaph was penned at its very dawn:

    O age, thou art shamed.*

O shame, where is thy blush?**

    -Shakespeare, Julius Caesar,* Hamlet**

  • @Jitpring And you're a pretentious, self-righteous, humorless and puritanical little man who seems to enjoy interpreting facetious comments on the Internet as evidence of the prevalence of the unholy debauchery and degradation of our times, in accordance with your paranoid and amusingly archaic religio-conservative worldview.

    Lighten up.

  • @jermd1990 Very funny! Thanks for the lesson in humor and levity, friend.

  • i love how nicol rrrrolls his rrrrs all the time. lovely

  • lol my english finalis tommorrroo on hamlet...better than reading the book again!

  • Fantastic! Good luck :)) Peace.. GO LAKERS :))

  • I'd love to see more of this version! I can never seem to find it on DVD.

  • OMG BEST HAMLET EVER!!!!
