He was heavily inspired by Randy Rhoads, hence the custom Les Paul. Randy also used pinch harmonics quite often, not as much as zakk but still. So what I'm saying is... Zakk wylde is a unique guitarist who was inspired by ozzys/Randy music and he's good at playing it and makes each Randy song unique. How does that make him suck?

What makes him suck is how not fluent his playing is live and his generic bluesy metal fusion style that reeks over every zakk song. There is a reason the majority are happy he is gone. He's popular because of his image. There are far better guitarists than him. Alex Skolnick for instance would have been a much better ozzy guitarist.

There are litteraly hundreds of guitar techniques and scales that "rock." Ever hear of the band testament? They do it all, sweep picking, pinches, a little bit of wah here and there, you name it. Like I said, he definately makes the best of what he knows. I think he over uses the pinches though. I mean yeah, his guitar squeals like a pig and it's pretty cool. but it's like after the first 20 pinches in the first song, it's not really that impressive. It's sort of like why cotton hill is everyones favourite king of the hill character. He's SO good because his appearences are just every once in a while. If he were on every episode it wouldn't be as funny, it'd get old fast.

Ozzy has set on record that he's touring with zakk because he was unable to find a decent replacement. Again I didn't say he was a bad guitarist. I said he's highly over rated.

That "classical" solo is not nearly as classical, or difficult as it sounds. It's like a newer version of thunder struck in the sense that it sounds alot more complex than it actually is. There are litteraly hundreds of guitar techniques and scales that "rock." Ever hear of the band testament? They do it all, sweep picking, pinches, a little bit of wah here and there, you name it. They use everything from the pentatonic scale (what zakk uses) to classical scales, middle eastern scales, standard major and minor. And any given album by them whipes the floor with zakk. He makes the best of what he can do, granted. That doens't make him a god.

Playback and lip syncing is for other genres, dissapointed about zakk and ozzy. I am a huge fan but I think it's about time for Zakk to focus on BLS and for Ozzy to look for a new frontman.
