It`s mentioned MULTIPLE Times that Angels lose their memories AFTER EVERY MISSION UNLESS THEY BECOME HUMAN ! Gabriel said he needed to know EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED ( with Amitiel/Jade , Michael and Sammael )AND WHY so he COULDN`T AFFORD TO FORGET !

the movie is amazing, I just got a copy of it and already watched it 3 times. Also, Arc angels are the highest angels. Fallen angels are the ones that fell from grace. Lucifer was the first fallen angel. Gabriel along with Michael hold the highest positions amongst the angels along with Raphael.
