I do not agree with any of the three. Limits of leadership????? The leadership of the husband over the family. OK we are in the 21st century and women are still under this circumstance. NO way!!!!
Women a liability JA only in jewish. My very close Muslim friend was unhappy of his first baby girl he wanted a boy as a first born. The as far as I know men are allowed to have up to 4 wives?????
Her legal personality . YOU MUST BE KIDDing me. All those women with their veiled faces.
I highly doubt that you have Muslim friends. My experience with my non-Muslim friends has always been that their views about Muslims have changed upon knowing me and they have argued with their families when they have espoused similar views.
What you say about men is true. A Muslim man may marry four women under set conditions as prescribed by the Qu'ran yet no other monotheistic religion may present that in their text. There is no where in the Bible or Torah which says one wife.
I have been fortunate to have met Muslims who are not radical in their ways. I have been very fortunate to have met Muslim girls who do not feel forced to wear the hijab and live here in the states. In fact you would not know they are Muslims unless they tell you. They were actually my sister in law. But I have met muslim men here who do not believe in this. many try anything to convert a non-muslim, because they say their religion tells them their children need to be Muslim. It is HAran if not
Being Muslim is not just in name only...one fact that I am proud of is the fact that everyone knows I am Muslim from the minute they meet me. This is not because I say it but because of the way I act. Furthermore, this was true even before I started wearing the hijab which was approximately two years ago, at the age of 23. One reason I didn't wear the hijab is because I had parents whom opposed it. The hijab is not the source of the problem neither is Islam but culture.
I read this comment and had to offer my support for this view. Culture has in my opinion prevented the full development of all Muslims. Not, saying that culture is evil. Islam supports culture, but not to the point that we value it over the fundamentals of this Deen. It is clear that culture is used as an excuse and blurred over the Important fundamentals of Islam. For example rules and regulations dealing with Marriage in the Deen. The list is LONG!!!
Insha'allah I will be a hijabi in the next year :) My family are non-Muslims and refuse to go into public with me as long as i have on Hijab...You'd think I was wearing a burka with how they act :>
I love this video series you have uploaded (also created?) and will show it to my family to attempt to educate them...Oi vey.
Actually the bible never puts a limit on the number of wives. I have heard all the arguments that people state with regards to the fact that pologymy is immoral according to the bible and to reply to any statement such as that is to point out that Abraham, Jacob (also known as Israel), Judah, David, and Solomon. all had multiple wives. To state that such an act is immoral or prohibited by God brings to question the prophet hood of these individuals (God forbid-Astaghfurallah)
 Thank you :) I'm glad you enjoyed the videos...Insh'Allah as soon as I finish setting up my new computer and transferring all my data, from the old computer to the new, I'll post more.
I see...I'm a Muslim women, I have my JD, two BAs, an MA and I'm working towards my PhD, I run a small at home business but I have to existence to bear witness to others. Muslim women have a strong voice which westerners have stifled because of this view. It is doing an injustice to those women who are attempting to show the strengths of Muslim women.
I do not wish to stiff any Muslim women's effort. I admire a women period regardless whether their black white Jew or Muslim, but you cannot deny that there are women in your culture that have not been permitted what you have. Perhaps you can help them get the education they need. All cultures have this problem in different ways. NO culture nor religion is perfect.

A perfect example of this may be found in Dr. Mahmoud's Articles on women in Egypt and the Mosque movements.

Black and blue shadows that wonder in the streets have no existence to bear witness to others. They have taken away their right to just be women
