He came from junior college, went to FSU..he had Tra Thomas on the other side! His workout prior to the draft. I don't care what ANYONE says. It's the greatest ever for an OT. The man is the greatest OT of all time in terms of all-around play, and basically NEVER allowing sacks.

Run blocking hasn't changed much over the last thirty years, but what linemen have to do in pass-protection has gotten so much harder. Anthony Munoz is the only guy who can compare with Jones, and he didn't have to deal with the speed-rushing demons we see today. Jones is a master of both run-blocking and pass-protecting. There's only one offensive lineman whom I consider to be better; New England's John Hannah. I can hardly give Jones a higher compliment.

Well around here in his hometown we call him Big Boo. Ive known the big fella since we were kids and trust me his body has finally caught up with that big head he had as a kid(lol). It really feels good to see all of you fans embrace my homeboy like this. I chat with him every time he comes home during the off season and we talk about old times here in Aliceville, Alabama. I was watching a game a couple years ago against the Falcons when Kerney was with them. It was when Kerney played on the other side. So it was Kerney Vs. Jones, and Walter just completely owned him. Kerney ended up on the ground after almost every play. It was ridiculous. Hopefully Walter can teach Eugene Monroe as much as he can before he retires. (Assuming we draft Monroe)

Haha, I remember that, in 2005. When Kerney signed with us, he said at his press conference that facing Walter was like wrestling a bear for 3 hours.

I remember that game vividly (against the Falcons). Jones was pancaking Kerney ALL GAME, and at that time Kerney was considered one of the very best at that position. Towards the end of the game he switched sides just to get away from Jones and I believe he stayed there in future games. The TV announcers would occasionally show the Jones/Kerney matchup is close up and talk about how bad Jones was owning him. Walter Jones = The GOAT.
