Too sad... Just like the thief series. Take a look at the old map designs of games like this compared to the linear cutscene crap we have today. The games back then also seemed more crisp for some reason too. Maybe because they weren't loaded with super low res textures with 5 layers of pixel shaders hiding the crap textures so the consoles can play them.

@jtno2 yeah, and it's funny considering how extremely scaled back it is compared to the previous parts in the series (mostly SWAT 2, as the first SWAT was just screwed up, as you had to do everything in a particular order, and would lose a mission even if the suspects were arrested, because you could only win if your particular police officer made the arrest).

@cheesyflames Tasing or pepperspray always works, gas or flashbang is just to keep them stunned untill you've tied them up. Peppergun is the best, but beanbags work against gas masks. Hope that helped

@vuur150 Tasing them is really effective on individuals, but when there's multiples (Like in the later missions) you can't get them all, since the taser is a one-shot weapon. The peppergun gets them coughing, but they won't drop their weapons. :(

I got past that mission. no one would surrender though, and I didn't have any subduing weapons, so I ended up blasting 99% of them. still passed though, lol.

@cheesyflames Actually, gas keeps them busy for a long time, beanbags and pepper usally works and if it doesnt you will still have time to, pepper both, taze one ( drops weapon), reequip peppergun and pepper the other so you have time to reload. Also you have a team

@vuur150 I do use beanbags, but sometimes they're wearing gas masks too, so I have to flash bang them. I don't carry the shotgun either, because it has low range. I try to incapacitate them by shooting their legs, works for me.

I've played Vegas 2 and it's not better. Vegas 2 is even more difficult than SWAT 4. Which isn't always bad. I like the cover system and that really shows that Vegas is all about military operations, SWAT is police work. Big difference. Especially when you can get Light Machine Guns and Sniper Rifles in Vegas where in SWAT 4 the most powerful weapon you get is a half automatic shotgun or Assault Rifle.

@AwokenDemon actually if you read the book you'd find that they are a multinational unit comprised mainly of military personnel and some law enforcement agents.

Rainbow is classed as a black military unit so they are given simulated military ranks. You should definitely read the book though its a pretty intense read probably the most action packed of clancy's books since there's much less politics.
