  • huh?

  • I would be interested in saving energy and utilizing solar power but in my country this is impossible due to the climate.

  • a grill a fry pan wheres the rest!!!!!!!!

  • @shuzzbutts Sorry! That was my first video and I didn't do so well. Check out my solar popcorn video. It's much better. :)

  • Pretty cool!

  • Thank you! Glad you like it!

  • Neat!

  • Thank you!

  • what would be good is if they invented a solar :cook anything you want: grill lol

  • Check out my other videos! This grill does it all!

  • oh cool it a lot cheeper than a gas grill thats for shure propain does not come cheep anywhere thease days :(

  • I have not really found anything I can't cook on a solar cooker that I can't cook on the stove check my video response fro proof.

  • @MrXstacey Good, now cook up a midnight snack.

  • @BIGMUDDYDOG Well I could cook it in the day and use a microwave to reheat it at midnight. Considering it would take less energy to reheat it in the microwave than it would to power the LED clock on it for a day, I see it as a win win. But like your wife might say, You got 2 hands, cook it yourself.

Point taken, thanks for the chuckle.

  • They did! And here it is!

  • nice recipe there, emeril!

when you post your popcorn video, i hope you go as far into detail as this one!

  • Since daddy arrives late after work, my dinner is not even cool.

  • (cont.) however I recommend mylar type reflective film. It works much better. You can use window film or even an inexpensive reflective "emergency blanket" found in the camping supply section of your local department store.

You can also use a satellite dish and put film on it. A medium sized one, say about three feet in diameter, will do nicely.

Let me know if I can be of more help.

  • The easiest way is to search for "High Quality Solar Grill Kit" and buy one. I cannot put the web address here. You get reflective material and full instructions to build your own High Quality Solar Grill using a satellite dish. There's even a solar cooking guide.

Another way is to use your search engine to search for "solar hotdog cooker". This should work pretty well to boil water. You can substitute cardboard for the wood and plastic parts, and use aluminum foil, however (continued)

  • I'm thinking of making something. Like taking a cardboard box and covering completely in tinfoil, and making it sort of circular, so it can keep water inside of it, then put it in the sun, and boiling water. Will it work? Or will the whole think catch fire? I dunno. Reply please.

By the way, I'm only 12, so I'm not that smart. >:(

  • The box will work to heat a jug of water but it's not likely to boil it unless you form a parabola behind the jug. No it won't catch fire.

If you don't need to boil the water, then you can use most any shape that roughly focuses the light onto the jug.

Water holds a lot of heat so it takes a lot of energy to heat it. Use a black metal container for best results. Google "solar oven designs" for more information.

If you really need to boil the water, let me know and I'll tell you how.

  • Well. If I could ever build this, I would hope to make spagetti in it, and the noodles need boiled water to cook them. xD

  • We will post our popcorn video next. Stay tuned!

  • I think not cool, but very hot

  • Right you are, very hot! Thank you!

  • cool

  • Way cool! :) Thank you!

  • Cool.

  • Thank you for your comment. It's an awesome grill!
