The first anime I ever watched (started and finished in one day!!) and my absolute favourite (right next to Saiyuki!). I think a lot of it has to do with the gorgeous voice-acting of Illich Guardiola as the handsome Hayate and the humour that runs throughout the series. Although I really believe they should have kept Kei (the blonde knight) as he's drawn in the manga (his hair looks a bit more like Sasame's - the white-haired knight) instead of making him look like a girl!!
