Mmmmm....something not quite right about seeing great musicians playing eighties pop covers very badly (even if Geoff was in The Buggles !!). Lets face it you never hear Bowie performing 'The Laughing Gnome' in his stage shows do you ?? Social club bands put out better covers of this type of stuff. Now then Mr Howe please stick to what you're universally adored for ....or you can be in the next Eurocrap Song Contest....

This song is one of the greatest pop songs of all time and the keyboard player was a co-writer and performer. If you knew anything about the recent Asia tour they played Asia songs and songs from each band members back catalogue.

If you read my comments again you'll hopefully realise I am not knocking what IS one of the best 'Pop' songs ever written (I do refer to Geoff Downes the co-writer and performer).But I do make the point that this is an extremely bad version played by some of the worlds greatest rock musicians and that I have known social club bands play far better versions (cos that's what social club covers bands do best).May be flogging a dead horse here.
It`s not a bad version. It is a bad recording. There is a difference although if you are just Anti-Asia singing the track there`s nothing anyone can do about that. . The band`s version has been going down a storm in the gigs. Guess it`s a case of being there rather than watching badly recorded videos although this clearly isnt enough for you evidently.
Being there is a good point. Check out 'The Feelings' version of VKTRS it's truly awesome. I saw them live in Hyde Park in the summer - and it was possibly the best performance of the day - over and above Gabriel and Crowded House. Just think Asia are going through the motions at this particular show with this song. I go back to the birth of Asia and am a huge fan of all the musicians involved (including the more recent monster playing of Guthrie Goven - a local lad to me in Essex, UK)
