this is actually pretty interesting, i am going through my first year university majoring in psych, so im not really familiar with all these terms, but i hope to learn more about these subjects throughout my years. thanks for the video, it really made me think :)
dude obviously Dr. Phil cannot be construed as a "text" at least within Barthes' boundaries as you present them. Simply because he repeatedly appears in our discursive environment does not make himself a text. Dr. Phil, because he does whatever the fuck it is he does in the discursive enviorment, *can* be interpreted in semiotic terms. But why belabor the question? working with a "text" is in no way a precursor to deploying semiotics or the theories it spawned. that said, LOVE the blog
'Dr.Phil is supposed to be our good conscious'. Thats why the show is fucking horrifying. In the uniform expression of the audience we see the neurotic character of toxic narrative already internalized being expressed.
yeah, its been pointed out before, and I noticed it too. But, our budget and production value are equally low, so there's not much to do in post-production but kick oneself. Thanks for paying attention, though.

The Postmodernism Generator is a computer program that automatically generates postmodern essays. Gramatically correct but meaningless.
Now watch a college gaduate reviewing a computer generated essay. He has no clue of its true origin.

oxymoron? how about irony? she says "I don't have words" - maybe she is being polite - she means she does not have polite words.

All part of the deconstructive process.
