The hens and chicks variety really is a weird fucking variety. When I first saw it I was terminally mind fucked, I couldn't make out where the pod was until I realized that there's one giant pod in the middle surrounded by other little deformed poppy pods. I've never grown hens and chicks, and I am really looking forward to buying that variety seeds and growing them, possibly crossing them with Giganteum to see what sort of flower I'd get.
Hey man, I noticed you're no longer selling your seeds on eBay. What's up with that?? I got kicked off ebay because the chick I had working for me couldn't keep up with all the shipouts and she ruined my account with too many customers leaving low DSR ratings within a 6 month period. So they suspended my account indefinitely. I had over 5,000 feedbacks with a 99.8% positive rating. So now, I only sell through my website which actually is doing quite well. Anyways, write back. Tell me what's up.
My girlfriend is in love with these flowers i am going to give it a shot at growing them my self it would be get if i could get it to the point were i could give her fresh flowers every few days because i think i read that the flower pedals only stay on for a few days.
It is possible to hybridize this variety with the pollen of Papaver orientalis or P. bracteatum. Crossing with P. rhoeas won't work, though. The end result will yield a plant that flowers more like a hollyhock instead of a poppy. Other mutations will be a single flowered variety but with a strange looking crown on a capsule. Take careful notes of what's been crossed and what hasn't. Also, earwigs love to eat the pollen on the pitils of the poppy just as much as the bees like to collect it @ 1:19
NICE !! Thanks for featuring photos of my poppies for the whole first half!! That's awesome!! Are those the ones I posted on Flickr?? Anyways, nice job. Maybe next year, I'll have you do a slideshow of all my new strains!!
Those are beautiful flowers, are they all the same type of poppy? Do California poppies do anything? They grow like weeds here, but I don't think they do anything but look pretty,,, hmmm.... Nice Video

Love the photos. Not digging the tunes. The flowers (and pods) are absolutely gorgeous, though.

@toghax09
Harvesting the actual opium is so easy though,
Cut it, let it "bleed" for then once its dry enough scrape it off.
