Awesome. I never knew this or saw this video. Thanks for sharing! Started out looking for original video for One in a Million, now I found this! Great!
This clip is a must have for anyone downloading YouTube videos. It shows a legend explaining in his own words how what became a style that was eventually copied and co-opted by everybody came out of the on the spot need for innovation creativity and the ability to improvise. It is the story of our history...that same necessity exists today.
I chat with Graham frequently, the story simply is not true. Larry was there, he's the authentic item. There are a host of rumors that simply are just that rumors. Even if it is in copyright print.
cool! yeah, i'm not trying to argue with you, man. Just sharing what i read. Larry says he played on it so he must of, its just odd Bootsy and Flea say different...
The Family was in their hey-day and Larry recorded the bass line. It wasn't until the Family Stone started to break up that Sly started laying down bass lines. How long ago was that you read the interview and where was it?
Now Larry Graham is sharing blessings to all by preaching house to house about the Kingdom of God to all ,as Jehovah the giver of life everlasting , as Jehovah Witnesses himself now . Thanks Brother Graham we love you ,May Jehovah Bless Us All...Sis. Susan G. in Cong. of S.P.Bul.,Phil.
Graham is and will always be great. The premier bassist of our time. He is under rated because of how the times were when he was giving up the funk. There was nobody in his league unti Louis Johnson who has a slightly different feel.

Is that an early G&L L-2000 bass that Larry has?
RadioMasterDude 1 year ago
@RadioMasterDude Yep, early G&L by Leo Fender. Used to tour with it back in the very, very early 80s.

Tell Larry to come out to Australia! cheers.

For the record, this is not true. I think
bootsy may have this confused with a cut on the album Fresh, the album where LG left the band and Sly did some bass lines.

Apparently...according to an interview i read...Bootsy collins said Sly Stone recorded the bass on 'Thank You'? But Larry says different!
Unless sly wrote the line? but Larry recorded it? i don't know?

Larry is awesome! Larry and Bootsy Collins are my two favorite bass players, and the best in my opinion.

Same! Bootsy and Larry are two funky motherpluckers, it doesn't get better than them.
