  • For anyone who is interested in overfishing, please check out my channel: EurofishTV

  • I have a solution to this...Be a vegetarian.

  • this is some bull shit typical peta greenpeace lies. every word in this vid is lies. there is no bi catch with tune othter tuna species meaning if they targeting yellowfin they get some skipjack tuna mixed in as well. green peace and petas goal is to ban all forms of pet ownership farming and fishing hunting 1 species at time in one area at time. the only way they can do this is to lie and to attack 1 form fishing at a time. not 1 single dolphin killed by tuna net since the 90s its dolphin safe

  • This video is absurd! Get a life greenpeace not everyone likes to eat fruit and veggies like you hippies!

  • This animation looks great ..and it works too. But, the solution-part..... about the canned fish with a no-delfin mark ...fish industry has used spinning rods?I find that hard to believe. In sweden all tins (?) have this mark almost.

  • i've stopped eating tuna long ago.

  • tsk tsk tsk what a waste anyway big fish like Tuna contains mercury so NO Tuna for me

  • Greenpeace exaggerate alot, but in this case they made a good point. 30% of the catch will probably be by-catch, which dies on the boat. It's a sad way of fishing.

  • @MADDISO you dont know what your talking about! just go back to whole foods!!

  • People saying line-catching tuna would make them too expensive for your sandwich - first of all, it probably wouldn't. Second of all, even if it did, are you really saying that it's worth compromising marine life and endangering species vital to the ocean's ecosystem for TUNA SALAD? It's not like eating tuna (or any other animal for that matter) is necessary for life to go on in most of Western culture. Get a little perspective.

  • @Od294 Oh, hm, well - that's true too. It's a part of survival; the fishermen don't go to sea with mass animal slaughter on their brain...that's just how they portray it in this video. It's hard because you have the people that frown upon other humans for just surviving and being animal and imperfect, and then you have the people who have little to no reverence for this planet or the people on it. But those are polar opposites. It's very hard to do the right thing in everyone's eyes, I guess.

  • Really nice!

  • I'm glad I'm a vegetarian

  • @Od294 Maybe... It's easier to criticize other people, but it's hard to accept fault in/change ourselves. "The pot calling the kettle black" is an idea related to this kind of question/hypothesis, at least I think. X)

    Interesting thought.

  • Whale and Dolphin!?

  • how about no one eats Tuna? Tuna is nasty.

  • "pole and line" fishing is grossly inefficient :/

  • @TheSpazzofMuffins Tell that to the dolphins, rays and hammerheads.

  • @TheSpazzofMuffins Have you seen commercial tuna fishing with poles and lines? The catch is immediate! It's not like you sit there and wait all day to catch one tuna. Its certainly not as efficient as nets or long line fishing, but there are plenty of small fisheries that stay in business that way, and their tuna isn't crazily expensive either.

  • no, greenpeace hasn't done a thing to solve any of earth's problems. we will never solve earth's problems. nobody wants to spend the money

  • Vegetarianism is a really easy way to not feel responsible for this stuff.

  • @FerreThoughts sounds like an easy way to putt off responsibility to the other people

was that what you also meant?

  • @phlexonance For once I only meant what I said. People don’t do that often anymore.

  • @FerreThoughts Sadly true.

Do you still care even when you don't feel responsible?

  • @phlexonance Yes of course.

  • @FerreThoughts But then you have to worry about hurting the veggies feelings when you pick them from the ground!

  • @emperortim21 I try to avoid picking vegetables with nervous systems.

  • Whats also ridiculous is that the labels on tuna cans that say "Dolphin safe" Don't necessarily mean that no Dolphins were harmed. What it literally means is that less then 5000 Dolphins were killed as a result of bycatch each time the boats come out.

  • And this is why I stopped eating fish.

  • Vegetarian for life!

  • Thoughtbubbler your videos are so great! I love your animation style.

Shame I don't entirely agree with this video's message.

  • @darketherealv2 What's not to agree with? Don't you agree that other fish caught and killed needn't be should be spared? Especially when some of those are becoming rarer? Yes it is a more expensive way of catching the fish but it's something worth paying out for.

I'm partial to a tuna sandwich so I'll definitely be looking out for these tins!

  • @Alexthemessiah I don't agree with your conclusion. It's NOT worth paying out for because it is TOO expensive.

If tuna was "only" caught by hook and line then you wouldn't be able to afford it for your sandwich. Like other types of fish. Like crabs and swordfish and exotic fish that can ONLY be caught on a one by one basis.

  • I really liked the way this was edited! Spiffy job!!

  • I want to like it, but its such a sad topic I dislike it. sigh

  • @Sarojin You're stupid...

  • :(

  • i think you should put an empasis on the importance of saving dolphins. One sort of species of dolphins are probably either extinct or only twenty left. Yeah, twenty. Though most of the dolphins that die, die because of tuna hiding under the dolphins. The fishers know that they're there and fish all of them up. The other fish survive, because they are in water. But not the dolphins. They suffocate because they can't get up for air.

  • poor fishies :c

  • Absolutely mind-numbingly brilliantly awesome!
