  • Thanks for the video, fishy! I successfully changed the actuator on my wife's 2002 CRV thanks to your guide.

  • @ProvidentPlanning always Welcomed

  • Great video. Thanks, you saved me a lot of money. One thing that I found a bit confusing was you started with the window down and then released the electronic clips. Later in the video the window was up when you released the window track bolt. I found the best way was to have the window rolled up during the entire actuator removal. With the window down, the actuator will never come out. In any event, you made a great video. Thanks

  • @jamesrgulledge WIndow was down so I did not have to force the cover of the door, after that I raised it. the cover is lipped and is harder to remove. why idid my unconventional way. now send me your savings lol.

  • @fishycomics Where do I send the two party out of state paycheck. I'll need you to deposit it into your account and then send me cash back for the excess. lol Great Video!

  • @jamesrgulledge sweden. of course lol. thank you . Very kind of you, we can retire now.

  • Awesome!! A bit of a pain to do, but works like a charm. Thanks for the instructions!

  • Thanks for the response fishycomics. What is the andel tere? "on the andel tere is a wite locking tab you took off, place back on"

Is it part of that long white part that was just connected with a black plastic tack? I put everything back as I found it, but that long white guide that goes behind the door lock knob was the only part I was unsure about. I just dropped it back down, but did not make sure it was hooked or latched onto any other bar. Was that supposed to be connected to anythng?

  • @casperontheweb I have no clue what you did, I cannot recall but I did not dismantel anything outside my vid to not make a door work, the tab is a 90 degree part,

  • I am not sure how u all did it with just 2 hands. Luckily I had help. Getting the actuator off was a BIG pain, and to get it back on was tough to do in that small tight spot.....now it works....HOWEVER, I can't open the door from the inside using the door handle!!!!! I have to open the window and open the door with the outside handle. The white part at 4:12 of your video...is that supposed to be connected to another part....possibly to allow the door to be opened from the inside the vehicle?

  • @casperontheweb ..

As a best tip for tose wo do not know what tey are doing , paper and pencell write down eac step you did, and even scetch, a pic , etc. so you can go back on, sometime the oter side, will be of help. on the andel tere is a wite locking tab you took off, place back on. you left tat part off, it becomes super fragile later on

  • @casperontheweb You may have not connected, or improperly connected the rod that goes from the inner handle to the locking mechanism. Fishycomics briefly shows the hardware/location where the rod connects to the locking mechanism in his Part 2 video @ 1:45, but does not show the rod. Hope this helps and good luck.

  • Have you ever seen where the door switch on driver's side does not work, but the keyless fob works to open ALL doors? The alarm does not honk either, but all doors lock/unlock with keyfob, but not the door switch

  • hi fishy are u from nyc ?

  • is this what makes the door lock not work with the remote?

  • @davgz11 sit in your car. and press the door lock. if you hear over a splt second more like3 secs then you have a worn actuator

  • Hi Fishy,

I am back. Did the change. Thanks for the excellent video. I do have 2 questions.

    1. Tell me why you mentioned the caulk was dangerous. I got it all over my arm. Should I expect skin cancer years from now?

    2. You (nor I) put back in the white plastic lock guide. I couldn't figure out how to put it in correctly and decided I didn't need to. Should I put that back on?

  • @jeff27yo 1. the chaul they claim cancerous in california, like tetrocyclyn for fish the ick medicine. it is only every day useage. lol. no need to panic I remember stupid stuff, lol, what was for dinner last night.

2 the plastic sleve more or less protects when Jimmy the lock it is now more open then protected. its simple to place back in, just that my V is now 135K lilless will never hurt, not important.

  • Fishy I love you man. I did the the replacement myself using your video as my guide and was ready to go in less than an hour. I kept asking myself "is that it" after I was done. A thousand thanks to you for helping me to save $200 + bucks.

  • @tworshim Thank you. never a Pro, just very unconventional at it. I still need to place on the plastic cover for the locks LOL. glad this video helped.

  • Thanks! The only problem I had was removing the three screws on the side of the door. I bought an impact screwdriver at Sears; however, I was only able to remove one of the screws with that tool. I took my CRV to a mechanic in order to get the screws removed. He had to drill through them.

  • @iaNCSU I used a Dewalt drill, at work, then was able to redo them. its amazingwhat plastic and metal can do lol. sorry to hear that.

  • @iaNCSU I am having the same issues with the screws. I tried using my weenie drill and a screwdriver. I am afraid of stripping the screws. What is the dewalt that you mention? and how is it any different from a regular screwdriver?

Must I got out and get an impact screwdriver?

  • @casperontheweb dewalt has a high output battery and that will do the trick, not a weak drill. even a electric drill. I had no issues removing, as a member tells you need a impact tool.. borrow one orgo to a shop as a last resort. I did that at work then I reloosened. there are notricks here only a rabbit

  • 1. Where do I get the actuator?

    2. Is Honda taking any responsibility here? Seems like a lot of these are breaking and only on the drivers door.

    3. Why do you believe the paper in the door is cancer causing? Work doesn't look too bad but don't want to risk getting cancer. What is the paper made of?

  • @jeff27

    1. google or gh honda dealer parts.

2 your choice bring to svc or DIY . you are reponsable.

    3. the chaulk in Ca. it is a cancer agent, takes more then just touching many hours of use many.

  • Thank you sir for the excellent video. You saved me over 200 dollars for this much needed job. I did this on another Honda and excellent tip on how to remove the metal bracket by undoing the screw. Thanks and God bless.

  • @subprimejerks Always welcomed.

  • Excellent pedagogy!

  • Hi Roadster. I have a magnetic tip screwdriver set. It has come in very helpful when dealing with screws in tight places. Sure prevents screws from falling into the wrong places. :)

  • yes, did not worry when lost it. eventually it will fall out. I have a lot of stuff and sure it was not metal but brass lol the golden one, our luck, aluminum lol

  • nice 5/5
