  • Um. So what!?!

  • You cannot win when contesting a speeding ticket - period. Why take the chance? Remember: The cool drive slow.

  • You changed illegally in that intersection, moron.

  • I wish he'd given you a ticket for driving distracted on account of your camera on your failed attempt at YouTube fame.

  • Simple solution dumbshit; don't speed.

  • Jonesboro PD set up two speed traps in one month on the same road at night;the road in question is HWY19/41. The speed limit is 55mph, but you can do 60-65mph tops without getting pulled over. On one of those speed traps i blew right thru it at 65mph without slowing down, not one chaser came after me, HaHaHa! I once blew by a planted police car at 70mph and the sucker just sat there, Dumb cop HaHaHa! I rule the night in my jet black car.

  • It's illegal for local cops to write a ticket for less than 10mph over the limit.

Points don't start until 15+mph over the limit...also their devices have a +-1mph margin of error, etc etc etc....so you're safe until 17mph over the limit.

Next time, try it at 72mph and see what happens!!

When you get your ticket, just go to court and have it reduced to 69 so you don't get the points....pay your $200....thank you please drive thru ;-)

  • Johnboozer, that speedtrap had cops crawling on Both Sides of 19/41 just b4 u get 2 atlanta motor speedway, one a spotter and the other a chaser on both sides. Thats when i blew right thru at 65mph. I once played around with a sheriff car trying to catch up with him, we both were doing 70mph weaving in and out of traffic. Traffic was very light that night by the way. I never did catch him, i can tell he was teaseing me to try too.

  • So your saying it is not possible for a cop to give you a ticket if your breaking the law? LOL! Cops can give you a ticket for .5MPH over if they want because YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW. And their "devices" must be calibrated REGULARLY to render submittable evidence in court. When calibrated, they have next to NO error. Dont know where your getting your facts from. Stop at your local highway patrol post and ask...

  • Cops can write you a ticket for 1 mph over if they want. There is no law saying you have to be going 10mph over to get a ticket. If that was true then they wouldn't have speed limits.

  • umm u are very very wrong

  • thats a legal spot, you can see at least 300 yards down the road there. The only argument you have is that there MIGHT be some trees in their way

  • This guys a real loser. He reminds me of the guy that probably got sand kicked in his face by some officer at the beach and the officer then ran off with his girl. He's sore about it and has yet to find another girl or better yet, the officer did her right and now she back with this loser, but she can't stop talking about the officer who turned her out! LOL !!!!!!

  • It's not illegal that's why it's called a trap not a you know there is radar up ahead, that wouldn't be a trap lol.

  • And yet another out of state cop who can't read the state statute posted in the description section.

Hey, I can only post the LAW as it's written, I can't make a cop read and/or understand it.

"Visible for 500 feet" = The Law, Mr Cop

  • Yea I didn't really read the whole discription lol. I'm not a cop yet but planning on it.

  • People that say that there no such thing as an illegal speed traps are wrong. Cops cannot hide from view or around corners. Even though I do agree that cops should be able too hide from view since the posted speed limit is already a good enough heads up not to speed.

In the end Boozer is right. Correct me if I am wrong, but if you do get pulled over because of an illegal speed trap you could take it to court and not have to pay the ticket. I am probably wrong but oh well. In the end don't speed.

  • you are NOT wrong...

And ANY time you get a ticket, it's always best to talk to prosecutor in court to possibly get fewer points.

The cop may want you "off the streets", but the court just want's your money.

There is good reason GA has such restrictions on speed traps....they have a history of abuse.

In fact, traffic enforcement units are supposed to research and setup in statistically 'bad' areas, they aren't supposed to just 'go write tickets'

  • fail

  • Hey Mr. Boozer. Let me enlighten you. It is called a SPEED TRAP for a reason. Who cares about your little laws. Don't speed! That's it lol.

  • they aren't my "little laws"....it's GA Statute..big letters "THE LAW"!

I'm sure you don't have much trouble not speeding in your little firebirdie...hope you have the chance to join the Vette club one day kid...that's it! LOL!!!

  • I do have to point out that if you're so strict on these laws, then why did you break one by changing lanes in an intersection? Just wondering...

  • maybe you could site the GA Statute that says it's illegal to change lanes in an intersection? Oh yeah, it doesn't exist....merely a "law" fabricated inside your own head. Good one!!

  • umm, actually that law does exist

  • They aren't my "little laws"...it's Ga Statute ie big letters "THE LAW"

I'm sure you don't have any trouble "not speeding" in your little firebirdie...hope you know what it's like one day to join the Vette Club kid...That's it LOL!!

  • I drove a 2002 Corvette with 22 miles on it and it felt no different than my WS6 Trans Am. My car is actually faster with pickup and feels smoother around the turns. I hate the shifter and feel of the corvette's response. I will stick to my stylish Trans Am. You go ahead and wrap your ass in some fiberglass. How traditional lol.

  • Corvette would rape your Trans Am, but the Corvette engine isn't even loosened up yet with only 22 miles on it..need 1,000....and a Trans Am or a Vette through turns?? I'll take the Vette any day..

  • Yeah and I too drove several TAs before getting the Vette.

So you "felt no different", except, blah blah blah, huh?

Guess what, I hate the shifter in BOTH cars, the TA's interior is twice as crappy as the Vette's crappy interior, and your TA has the exact same engine.

Class and Handling? There is NO comparison, vette will mercilessly pummel you.

TA = Poor Man's Vette, for a reason mr mullet...rock on brother!!

  • We'll I'm just a college student. I can't afford a vette right now.

  • Dude, you are so right. What the hell is he crying about? It's called "speed trap."

  • there is no such thing as an illegal speed trap...moron

  • Most Speedlimits outside are actually illegally posted if they're not 85% percentil then there're not with O.C.G.A. so when you get a Ticket just ask for speed survey when you go to court because you don't believe the speed limit is legal in acourdance to Ga Code.If they don't have Case dismissed!!!!!

  • i agree with Johnboozer because I got nailed coming over a hill and the officer said he was visible for 817ft but when DOT came over there and checked the distance it was 333 ft They can no longer run laser on that hill at all.

  • HAHAHA..This guy is a looser....Go pay your ticket like a normal person you little bitch.,Running around videorecording officers slowing down traffic!!! GET A LIFE

  • Who's ticket am I supposed to pay? I didn't get one. If you watched the video, you'll see the Honda driver got the ticket.

  • Me again, Just a quick question. Video taping while driving is very unsafe and might be illegal in GA. I don't feel like looking up the statutes but it's quite possible. Just make sure you don't interupt these Officers while they are doing their job though. You could be booked and hauled in for obstruction of justice. Even if you feel justice isn't be handled correctly here.. =)

  • yeah...don't interfere with an officer...that's illegal.

but as long as you're at a reasonable distance where the general public would be allowed to be at that time, then video away!

do you think I "interfered" with this officer??

  • No. I am just saying. Video taping while drive a motorized is possibly illegal in your state. So if you plan on video taping check out the statutes or local police department and see what's legal and not. Video taping while walking is obviously legal. Good luck.

  • i missed the part where that was illegal

  • You must have missed the 'more info' link.

    good luck.

  • i read the info and i know the law and that vehicle was visible for well over 500 feet. mabey you should work on your depth perception. good luck

  • maybe you should research the site a bit more...it is well within 500 ft.

    thanks for your comments

    good luck to you

  • no it's visible for at least 600-700 feet buddy. good luck to you. trust me you need it

  • no, it's visible at about 450 feet...trust me...

why would I need any luck? If you'd been paying attention, I was not ticketed. The Honda was.

again, good luck to you my friend.

  • i didn't say you got ticketed and quite frankly i don't care. and you say that you view was obstucted by on coming traffic, but that doesn't make any sense

  • I never said my view was obstructed by oncoming traffic...I said the officer wasn't visible to oncoming traffic for >500ft...your comments don't make too much sense.

Good luck you you...you really need it.

  • The vehicle is visible at :28. The white stripes for the lane are 12 feet long followed by 12 feet of space in between them. By counting the stripes, there appears to be at least 22. That's over 500 feet.

  • Yes vehicle is at :28, very good Mr Death.

But I'm not sure where you get 12 ft lines and 12 ft spaces.

    Point in FACT:

    1) The lines are shorter than the spaces

    2) 5 full 'line-to-line' intervals are just under 200ft (google earth, very accurate, check a football field - 'dead' on)

    3) 6 full line to line intervals (your 12 lines and spaces) = 440 ft.

    4) Due to my poor camera skills, you can't even see the lines through most of the event!!

Trust me, I've researched the satellite photos.

  • Actually the white lines are 10 feet and the spaces are 20 feet, go stand in the roadway and measure them.

  • if that were true, then 100 ft would be the beginning of line 1 to the end of line 4 .

Clearly that is not the case, as 100 ft is actually the beginning of line 1 to appx halfway between 3rd and 4th line.

Go to Google Satellite, go find a football field.

Then go to this traps location and tell me what you find.

The satellite scale is DEAD ON.

  • what was your rate of speed in this vifeo?

  • that looked like it was around 500 ft of visibility of the cop.

  • please show me in the statue where is specifies the 'cop' must be visible.

I see the word 'vehicle' must be visible.

maybe you could help me out on that one.

  • He and his vehicle are clearly visible for well over 500 feet.

  • Officer's vehicle is OBSTRUCTED well within 500 feet...you should pay more attention.

  • I got a speeding ticket but got it dismissed thanks to OCGA 40-14-17 which requires at the time of trial they must provide a certified copy of approved laser devices to be used by GA dept of safety.

  • Johnboozer,

If you want to make a video everybody will love to see, and laugh their ass off. Then Buy a Blinder M25 Laser Jammer and watch the puzzled look on the officers face when he tries to get your speed. Its Pricesless!! Since laser jammers are legal in georgia, just start filming away.. Ha! Ha!

    Georgia Boy :)

  • You have no life. You need a girlfriend

  • Is your girlfriend preventing you from posting more videos than that 1 lame clip of a cop driving past with e-lights flashing? I mean...seriously...post some videos. Go see what he's up to...video that and then show me what you've got. Will your gf let you?

  • well ass wipe that was me responding to a fight......oh and she laughed

  • jack you just got so fucking completely owned BAM!

  • Man, I hope that you take your video evidence to court. The judge would love it. It proves that the officer was doing exactly what the law says he is supposed to. It's ignorant fucks like you that get everyone all worked up over nothing. Everybody on here needs to read up on this for themselves instead of being a follower. Don't worry, asshole, pay your probation fines and fees on time and the state will lift your suspension.

  • why would I take this to court? I committed no crime and was not accused nor ticketed.

that's real funny..."Vinnie's Death Squad" is schooling me on ignorant fucks getting everyone worked up

    hahaha!!

no probation, no fees, no suspensions here, Mr Death.

  • Anyone else catch the ILLEGAL lane change (according to Georgia law 100 feet before or after the intersection)?? The cops should be operating legally, but so should you!

  • maybe you could cite that law for me? thanks!

  • This is very true for county/city cops, but not Georgia State troopers! Those guys can hide behind a bush and come out and hit you.The 500 foot should be for all police/state troopers.. You need a Laser jammer dude.

    Georgia Boy

  • Wow this was exciting. Man if this is how you spend your free time I feel sorry for you. Why not video tape drunk drivers, soccer moms speeding with a cell phone stuck to their ear or drug dealers selling to the kids in the parking lot of your high school. Na..you are going for the big story..police "corruption"..

  • uhhh, ok, Mr. Smokey and the Bandit!

Guys, you've GOT to check out bro's homepage; click on his name 'LivesaGardenDigit1'....now THAT'S Exciting!

  • haha ... fruity colors.... what a joke... smokey and the bandit lol

  • LifesaStupidName: 1) Because speeding tickets are a few hundred a pop and usually police try to fudge their way into higher profits, and 2) police "corruption" is a big story: they have a) guns, b) badges that you seem to want them to possess total control over you and c) an attitude. Johnboozer is doing a service, especially in the North Fulton area, informing people about this crap.

  • He, not his police vehicle, just has to be visible for 500 feet. Read Georgia Law (OCGA 40-14-7).

  • If you would be so kind obwan...please show me the word "PERSON" in the follwoing: ROTFLOL!!! I thght cops could read

    ***

    Georgia Statute

§ 40-14-7. Visibility of vehicle from which device is operated

No stationary speed detection device shall be employed by county, municipal, college, or university law enforcement officers where the vehicle from which the device is operated is obstructed from the view of approaching motorists or is otherwise not visible for a distance of at least 500 feet.

  • He, not his police vehicle, just has to be visible for 500 feet. Read Georgia Law (OCGA 40-14-7).

  • Your name says it all BOOZER. You know nothing about how the law is written. You are wrong. Get over it LOOZER.

  • Johnboozer, please learn the correct meaning of 40-14-7. 40-14-7 rules that a vehicle must be visible for 500 feet if a STATIONARY device is operated FROM THE VEHICLE. The device used in this video was not operated from the vehicle. In fact, a vehicle does not even have to be present when operating radar/laser on foot. If I wrote this ticket, it would be a valid ticket. An officer can always be on foot and radio to an officer ahead to pull the perp over. That is a valid method as well.

  • 40-14-7 in NO WAY states what you say...it may be what you WISH it says, but in reality it does not. The statute is posted in the video description for your convenience.

"No stationary device may be employed....where the vehicle FROM WHICH it is operated is obstructed...or...not visible for...500 feet."

How did the device get there? Which vehicle? THAT VEHICLE MUST BE VISIBLE!!!

Never says "if the device is operated from a vehicle"...show me!

    Legislature was clear..show a vehicle!!

  • I work in law, but I am not a law enforcement officer. You are accusing me of arranging the statute to what I wish it would say, but in reality you are interpreting it based on your point. The statue says that the visibility of vehicle from which device is operated must be at least 500 feet. There is not a statute that requires officers to operate radar/laser from a vehicle. Also, an officer can shoot radar/laser and radio ahead and have another car initiate the traffic stop.

  • Actually you did TOTALLY re-arrange and also ADD WORDS to the statute.Oh...so it seems that we're BOTH entitled to our own opinions until either of us can point to specific case law? hmmmmm?

In this case, the officer is standing in the open driver's doorway of his cruiser vehicle. I think the law is clear to the reasonable person: This device is being operated FROM that vehicle..so THAT VEHICLE MUST BE VISIBLE!

Tell it to the judge, sweetlace285. remainder of ur post is irrelevant to video

  • The law states sic "No STATIONARY device shall be employed...unless the vehicle is visible for 500 ft". The OLD law said 'Device must be visible'. They CHANGED THAT LAW. The CURRENT law says 'V*E*H*I*C*L*E' MUST BE VISIBLE!!!

If you can submit caselaw that a single man can detect without vehicle being visible, then SUBMIT IT PLEASE!!!

THe law does not address vehicle-less stationary devices...so it dosn't sound like it's allowed...it's VERY regulated!

  • I'm glad that some people will stand up for civil rights instead of just letting the cops do whatever the hell they want.

  • Just put a small video camera in your car, every time you see a cop, start rolling. I also get LOTS of traffic violations (no turn signals, crossing center lines, speeding without emergency lights, etc). Maybe if I get another ticket (it's been 7 yrs) I can play a video of the officer making the same violation he charged me with...hehe, could you imagine what would happen! HAHA!

  • What I love about this whole mess of argument and bickering, is that you have nothing better to do. A police officer might drive over the speed limit when they go to a call which does not require the activation of their lights and sirens. Next time you have a need for an officer and you need to dial 911, I really hope you don't complain when he expidites his travel to you for YOUR problem. Not his. As far as the illegal speed trap, hopefully you don't get in a wreck stressing something that

  • ridiculous. When you kill someone because your entire attention is focused on a distance... I hope the judge throws the book at you and charges vehicular homicide. People die every day because someone was more concerned with their cell phone then the potential deadly weapon they control. Congratulations Mr. Boozer on your abilitly to read GA statute and understand it. Now do everyone with loved ones a favor and pay attention to the road. Hopefully I never work a fatality wreck involving you.

  • dude yur a bitch nig for agreein wit that police speed trap, and a bitch for bitchin bout a damn guy drivin wit a camera, who gives a fuck

  • Are you drunk or did you just flunk the 3rd grade? If it is the law then the PD should follow it but at the same time if youre not speeding or breaking the law then why worry about it. Stay safe and worry about what matters.

  • yur a bitch nig haha looks like you like to type a damn paragrah bout bullshit

  • I don't agree with him about anything. I disagree with the whole thing. The beauty is, at least I can type without being illiterate and using profanity every three words, but hey.. its people like you who ensure that police will always have jobs so THANKS for job security!

  • The officer was just doing his job. All city agencies with the exception of the GA state patrol GSP has to give 10 mph over the speed limit, with the exception of the school zone. This particular officer will give you 14 mph over the speed limit and he will not write you unless you are 15 mph - or more - over the speed limit.

  • Interesting...you have personal information about this cop? Or have you researched his file, past tickets??

His "JOB" is to make sure his vehicle is visible for 500 feet...he did NOT DO HIS JOB!

I'm really at a loss as to how you could make such an ignorant post.

  • i'm at a loss as to how you could post such an ignorant video when everyone commenting it says YOU are wrong.

  • Actually I have alot of support...there's only a couple of 'Cops' who are in disagreement. 1 about the distance (the distance on Google Maps is VERY accurate) and the 2nd 'Cop' on the wording of the law (which should be clear to anyone if they can read....Mr "Works in Law" was in error).

"NO STATIONARY SPEED DETECTION EQUIPMENT SHALL BE EMPLOYED...where the vehicle...is not visible for 500 feet".

Next I'm sure you'll try to say this device was not operated "From" a "Vehicle" (?!?!)

  • i'm guessing that your dumbass got a speeding ticket and you are attempting to make a feeble attempt at discrediting that officer. you are a piece of shit. don't speed or break the law and the police will stay away from you.

  • You must be Jesus Christ. Your'e stating that you are perfect

  • The officer has a laser, which gives him an exact measurement which he will take to court. Like I said before, the city engineer has already measured approved speed detection sites for its officers. So I guess an amateur like yourself using Google maps is far more accurate than a civil engineer and a speed detection instructors measurements with a DPS approved laser? You sir are a total idiot.

  • The officer's laser will only show the distance the motorist was detected....NOT the distance his vehicle is visible. The STATE DPS (not city eng) has approved ROADS which may be enforced...cops still must make vehicles visible. Keep the trash talk commin, LEO!

  • The officer himself is visible at 24 seconds (earlier if not for the van in front of you), and his vehicle is fully visible at 28 seconds. At each of these times the distance is well over 500 feet. How many times have you gone out and measured with a laser 500 feet on a road???? I have years of experience with advanced accident reconstruction and this is look closer to 1000 feet.

  • Haha, this officer clearly visible well over 500 feet. And yes I have measured this exact road, with a laser. As a former law enforcement officer and current traffic accident reconstruction expert. I can plainly see that the officer AND his vehicle are visible for nearly 1000 feet, plus according to case law only he must be visible for 500 feet since he is out of the car. Get a life dude. The entire city is already mapped out with approved spots. Moron.

  • looked like 500 ft to me.

  • From looking at satellite photos of the area, count the road-way lines, see the mailboxes etc etc...it's about 400 ft when the CRUISER comes into view.

Why, did you go out and measure it?

  • cry me a river bud. to bad he didn't cite you.

  • The driver was not speeding.

  • Apparently you didn't either bud. Counting mail boxes and looking at a photo doesn't count. You would need a topographical map and a calculator to estimate the distance. To get a precise measurement you would have to get a laser since a measuring wheel measures ground distance not line of sight distance. The Roswell Police HAVE done this and if you take a citation to court they will have the city engineers report ready to go.

  • Sat photos online are pretty darn accurate (they have a 'scale').

Apparenlty you didn't need any of this to give your wholelly incorrect estimation of 1000 feet in your first post. HAHA! wannabee!Oh and please send that map post haste!!
