What's the murder rate in Texas? I don't believe gun registry or licensing prevents crimes. Those laws target legal gun owners. Early April here in Ontario, Canada there was 3 shootings in under 5 days ALL ILLEGAL GUN OWNERS. Murder rate is about 100 deaths a year which involves, guns, knives...etc for a city of 3 million.
@n310ea Yes you can carry a loaded handgun in the car with you in Texas. It must be concealed. If your pulled over you need to tell the officer you are armed and where the weapon is in the vehicle.
If you are a Texas CHL licensee and an officer asks for your Driver's License or Identification, you must, by law, provide them both your DL/ID and your CHL cards.
If you are not a CHL licensee, and you are pulled over, you are not required to declare that you have a weapon in the vehicle. If they ask if you have a weapon (almost always before they search your vehicle) then you declare it. You are not legally obligated to tell the officer you have a weapon until he asks.
look son trolling about will only make ones self fooolish fucking with some one who is stubborn smarter, and well come froms the best place on the goddamn uniiverse and you can hate all you want nothing good ever came out of canada and on that note take celiendion back we dont want thats ho
@bigwillakingkilla WTF does that mean, you're generalizing a whole nation bud. I'm pro guns, most of the people I know are legal gun owners and hunters. I myself don't own a gun because of the bullshit laws here that are infringing on my RIGHTS to own one with a damn registry. They target legal gun owners on a watch list registry & can come & confiscate your guns if they deem you a threat. Its happened to my friends hunting buddy. Be lucky you have the 2A, but not for long with that idiot pres
@D33Lux thats just not right, that would make me mad, like seriously did they remiburst them for the cost of the taken firearms? damn man, i would kill before i give up my rightsyou should move to texas, nothing but open land and hillcountry just no bear, or elk, or moose.... that you can find and kill, but just about every other critter, but that is upsetting knowing that you cant have the means to protect yourself, even from your own govnt, form militas around and rise above

Virginia's gun laws aren't too bad either. You may puchase and own any type of firearm that you want aside from class III weapons which are governed by federal law. The only ammo capacity regulations are for hunting. There are no restrictions on open carriage of weapons, but if you wish to conceal a weapon you must obtain a CCW. CCWs are issued as requested pending the conmirmation of your criminal background. If your prior military or law enforcement you dont have to take a firearms saftey
damn i love living in texas were the weed is green hairy cheap and plentlful my alcohol is cheap and guns are cheap and gorgeous and roam free like birds in the sky and cant forget about the brisket and fatijtas, we got the meat we controlz the universe!.....and gas is cheap gotta be for the big fucking trucks and muscle cars we drive with our shotguns/assualt rifles in the back and 45acp in the dash....i love it
dumasses...Mabye they should look into history, and relize the importance of the second amendment. I hope these fucks get robbed, raped, and shot and the leg and gun point by some basterd who knew they would'nt be armed. And I hope their neiboor saw this video the day before and thought...hmm,..."Sounds like my neiboor is getting robbed and fucked in the ass at gun point" "mabye this will teach them a lesson on how important it is to keep and bear arms".
@ilikezappa no, being shot is an occupational hazard for criminals. The right to own firearms means that if someone wants to harm me, my family, or my property, they have to damn well earn it.
because owning a gun makes you tougher and cooler? It makes you an ever bigger fag cuz you are afraid of a fist fight. no im no anti-gun guy i just laugh about you feel like more of a man with a gun. bitch
Yeah because when someone invades your home in the middle of the night its more important to prove how much of a man you are with your fists than it is to use the most effective weapon to protect your life.
Actually, when I'm carrying, I do everything I can to avoid altercatio simply because I am fully aware of the power that I have in my possession. For example, I took a wrong turn in a parking lot an ended up in a situation where I was in someone's way. I had to back out to move but there was other traffick in my way. So this young punk starts yelling at me to "get the fuck out of the way." Calling me a stupid white boy. I simply smiled and apologised and moved my car. That kid had....
@aviationgrade Damn straight! Its always about Respect, Responsibility & Reason. I've been robbed 2x's in my life, also at night damn scum trying to break into my home & the damn law says I can't defend my home WTF! If anyone wears a gun they're considered a threat, heck, even a criminal. Strap that same equalizer on C.O.P.S. (Criminally Organized Political Servants) or a Soldier & they're considered Peacemakers & Hero's...Why can't we people have the same RIGHT! Greetings from Canada
@D33Lux Wow. I didn't know that gun laws were so strict in Canada. I have always thought that Canada, being such a sparsely populated area, would have fewer gun laws....especially with all of the great hunting up there. I heard that in the UK they imposed a national gun registration, then sent their "thugs" around to collect everyones weapons.
despite the general stupidity, they did list laws.
maybe if all "gun safe zones" were eliminated, you wouldnt have the criminals flocking to those areas to commit their crimes. gun safe zones and restrictive gun laws turn into a bullseye for criminals.
Scenarios - Gun safe zone - all "lawful-abiding" civilians have no guns, but there are those that have illegally purchased firearms. There's not way of finding them and being like, HEY, NO GUNS HERE *shoots* Oh, I'm dead.

In Texas, is it legal to keep a loaded handgun inside your vehicle without a permit, say like, in the glove compartment or center console?

@n310ea Yes. Full magazine, bullet in chamber, safety off. Completely legal, as long as you're legally allowed to own a gun.
