How exciting - to see what you are growing in your greenhouse! Personally, I have long thought I would prefer to forget the/a house...and live in the/a garden or greenhouse instead. Chico certainly is an effective greenhouse watchdog.
Nice! Very lush. Wish I had the space in my yard for one
I had serious slug problems but recently started going out at night with a flashlight to nab em. After about a week their numbers have dramatically decreased and my chickens are very happy :)
Wow! Thanks for the quick reply. I will try to order some. I have tried store bought ginger', did not root for me. I may try getting some from WholeFoods that is organic. lt might work. If it does, I will let you know. Thanks, Shari
I got some fresh coffee beans in hawaii when I was there last. I could try to sprout them.. It may work in an unheated greenhouse- depending on how cold it gets. I will soon have an episode showing coffee growing in a greenhouse in the San Francisco Bay Area.. Not sure if it fruits, but I did see the plants, and they were healthy. That being said, it would be more of a curiousity for me. I do not drink coffee, but prefer to eat the coffeeberry for its antioxidants and spit out the bean.
Love the greenhouse. I will look into one. I think you said you are growing ginger. Where can I get a start of the great ginger that I buy at the store. I am in zone 6. I have not been able to find info on ginger. Don't know the real name to look for. Where can I order? I am really a Newbie at food gardening. My yard will be turning more into food production this coming year. Look out neighbors. I am feeling better the more I grow my own. Thanks Shari
Yes, im growing galangal ginger. Its not the 'normal' ginger grown in the stores, its from SouthEast Asia, and has a different flavor then regular ginger, and is much harder. It kinda has "citrus' overtones. I will do an upcoming episode when I harvest/divide my ginger with more information. If I didnt grow it inside the greenhouse, it would not make it. Regular Ginger needs a tropical environment to grow, from what I have learned. You could try to get some fresh stuff and plant it!

Do indoor, or greenhouse, tomato plants require bees for pollination?

I was very surprised at how resilient hot peppers are... they did VERY well in our frigid Canadian Fall/Winter. We were very surprised.
