awesome. i saw andy narall last night at a nearby highschool and i loved it! this was my favorite song! he was traveling with the Miami of Ohio University steel band. I actually got to meet him and get his autograph
Are you talking about Canal Winchester HS? Thanks for coming, glad you enjoyed it! I'm a member of the band and it's been an absolute joy to have worked with him for the past 3 weeks.
Nope, I'm not in this video cause I'm taking it. I'm a member of Miami's band and have been for 4 1/2 years (I recently graduate, but the director was nice enough to allow me to come back and play with the band). If you recall an obviously-Jewish doubles player, that's me. I too got Andy's autograph (along with his brother's) and am excited to be performing with him again in a few weeks at Virginia Beach.
Hey ya i know you!!! cool!!! and wow you were great! and at the end, why were some kids playing your steel drum? and what was that song where all the canal HS people would play a few notes and then spin around, and what was the one where it sounded like a bee buzzing?
And by the way, i admire the way you guys invited us down for the final song! that was awesome! and when andy said "happy birthday Herbie Handcock" i almost fell off my spot on the bleachers! i love herbie handcock! wow im a bit hyper today...
Awesome :) Makes me feel kinda famous...The two children playing the pan afterwards were my little siblings. As for the Canal song, I have no idea, same goes for the one about sounding like bees...do you know if that one was a combined tune or if it was one of Andy's? Andy surprised us by inviting you to the floor, we were a little worried since we were EXHAUSTED and "Coffee Street" is a very labor-intensive song! But it's really great to see peoples' reactions to our playing. Thanks again!
i think the bee one was combined... and "coffee street" was great, you looked like you were having fun. i was actually standing right next to that older woman with brown hair while you were playing it. Wow, you guys were fantastic, so glad i could see you!
Well i think im going to go to miami for the chance to play in the steel drum band and educational opps
