  • ONE OF THE MOST BRILLIANT PERFORMANCES I HAVE EVER SEEN!!I STILL CRY WHEN CHRIS DOES- AMAZING ACTOR

  • I feel like I have felt like him at times. Losing the plot is simply not knowing whether you have lost it.

  • "It's his."

  • 0:20-Does'nt matter which conflict we butt our nose into;war is such a waste of life.

  • Just finished watching this today and Walken's character was truly special. But as DeNiro's character promised not to leave him in Vietnam, at least he made it home, although in a coffin, the promise was kept.

  • what a performance by Walken, his best ever!! what a cast in this movie everyone is top notch!!!! best movie of all time.

  • @daas8214 EPIC PERFORMERS AND PERFORMANCES!!!

  • True side of the war,no guns no nothing..Who seened war (unfortunetly) sawed this scenes very often...

  • Nicky <3

  • Damn, that game of Russian roulette in the bush really screwed him up...

  • Only walken can win an oscar for three stifled squeaks. the man's got talent.

  • @DanaPattison Um.. Hello?? Did you watch the rest of the movie?

  • It's a shame that the great man gets stereotyped as a playing badass gangsters. He can do so much more, as this clip shows.

  • the saddest scenes I've seen in movies. without saying anything says it all

  • the saddest scenes I've seen in movies. without saying anything says it all

  • cuz i love you babbyyy, and if its quiet alright i need you baby!!!

  • I love this scene and the one where he's with Robert DeNiro in the trailer talking about "The trees"

  • What an amazing film. Best film I've ever seen. This scene was amazing. The russian roulete scene was so intense. And the end part where he killed himself thinking ''one shot''. I cried at that part :(

  • Three years ago I became a REALLY BIG fan of Chris Walken. The 1st movie that pushed my buttons was THE DEAD ZONE. Then I bought THE DEER HUNTER and saw it for the first time (uncut) ALL the way through without commercial interruption. What an eye-opening experience. Walken was SUPERB in that movie. No wonder he won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. The three scenes where Walken shines supreme are the POW scene, the hospital,

and the Russian Roulette finale. What ACTING! And he can dance 2!

  • @quoththeraven956

He actually is a top professional dancer too, look at the Internet movie database or wikipedia:-)

  • my favorite actor ever..so raw..so human...never seen anything like it

  • War is Hell.

  • Whats the problem, hes just trying to sneeze.

  • more cowbells

  • chris, You are the best!!

    - LG

  • my kind of man!

    - LG

  • i think hearing all that "MOW" was just too much for him

  • I'm a grown man and I still cried like a baby at this scene. Your heart can't help but break along with his. What a performance.

  • Besides the fact he is one of my favourite actors (and this indeed being one of his best performances), I forgot how gorgeous he was back then. One of the most heartbreaking moments in the movie.

  • He's so good.

  • Oh god, poor baby :(

  • It's sad because nicks breakdown is pretty realistic to what most people react to when coming home from war. Thats why i get pissed at ignorant comments of how much of a man they would be in a war. But in reality, their is no way in hell they could describe the pain it brings to many serving veterans.

  • Oh yeah, I forgot about all that paranoia regarding the USSR. Sounds even sillier now than it did then.

  • I don't know my parents dates of birth... I'd be fucked too.

  • the first time I saw this movie I cried .this is the best movie ever!!

  • well he's suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, and he can't remember his parent's birthday. Also he realizes that he will never be the same again

  • Silly.

His "problem" is that this doctor is insinuating that he's a communist sympathizer, despite the fact he just served America in the war and is American born.

This is also why he gets kicked out of the hospital. "Black listed" they called it then.

  • @marysw your stupid mary

  • i could have died if i felt what nicky did

  • Oh god :-(

I remember leaving the theatre crying that day.

Walken deserved his oscar, he delivered the best role of his career.

  • Brilliant actor, also DeNiro, as well. My favorite scene of the movie is when Walken dies because his acting on that point was incredible!!!

  • you cant even tell he's acting

  • He said on "Inside the actors Studio" That he used sense-memory in this scene in which he recalled summer camp.

In his words "I thought I was never coming home"

  • You know, the scene showing the coffins,it could be a good lecture to whom it may concern,I mean those war freaks.

  • Well, the whole movie is an anti-war statement.

  • This is my favorite scene of Walken. In the theater he's lit so beautifully. He looks like Garbo.

  • won the oscer on this scene

  • Did you even watch the whole movie? The guy was a prisoner of war and put through hell.

  • Brilliant work.

  • I wanna hug him

  • ME too!!!

  • let's all give nicky a hug!!

  • seriously. (:

  • I'm a veteran and the way Nick (Christopher Walken) has a breakdown while questioned by the doctor is how I react before they draw blood from me at the VA.

  • Wow, what a touching scene :o

He can't speak at all :o "Thi.... Thi". Hah, poor thing :'p

  • walken is a genious

  • I think this movie just wanted to show you what a war can do to people no matter what race or nationality they are. It ended up killing Nick in the end.

  • Stop drinking, I should....

  • god i fucking love christopher walken!

  • He wasn't less strong ... he was drafted into a stupid war. He was a kid and let his human side show. A fabulous actor.

  • I think so... Chris did a great job for this "big kid". :)

  • Without wanting to argue, Michael was the mentally stronger that is evident. That was how the writer planned it, look him up

  • I don't think they where trying to betray Nick. I think it was more like they were just seeking comfort because they had shared a mutual loss

  • Any war is stupid.

  • this scene got him the oscer

  • He's isolated for the rest of the film. Micheal was the stronger of the two, the scene when he returns to the town with Nicks girlfriend is also so touching for so many reasons.

  • I don't like that scene. By the way, I hate both of them. They nearly forgot Nick at that time, forgot a best friend in a hell.

  • I agree with you about the scene, its not nice. Weren't as simple as leaving a friend. They all tried to stay together but things get fucked up in war.

  • Poor Nick! Nobody could save him at that time. And his best friend and his girlfriend was closer and forgot him. I just don't understand Linda, either. She shouldn't smile with Nick and kiss him when he said: "I'll marry you". And how could she slept with Nick best friend when her boy friend were lost in a damn war but maybe he was still alive? I like this film but there's something not true about Vietcong and Vietnamese. I'm not mad, this's a American film so I can understand. Love Nick! :D

  • But Michael did come back to get him. Rather wish he would have said in Nick's final scene something about making that promise on the court

  • First time I saw C.Walken playing, in 79.A face to remember...

  • Is it russian?

    No,it's american!

    Great scene!

  • Why did he start crying in the first place?

  • Wow, this is very hard to watch. I felt him. I got teary. And the ending to top it all off. Tragic!!!!

  • Chris Walken est sublime dans ce film très perturbant psychologiquement ! en plus d'être un excellent comédien et acteur, il est aussi cuisinier, écrivain, peintre bref génialissime !

  • Aww that is so sad! I wanna give him a hug too, poor baby!!!

  • This is the scene that helped him win the Academy Award.

  • I thought Chris Walken was for real off his rocker when I saw this movie way back when.

  • best actors were anything before the 2000s especially 70s

  • omg ..... that was so sad i totally wanna give him a hug..wow he was really hot back then too. I cant beleive ive never seen all of this movie, it makes me sad :(

  • i cried in this part.. i felt so bad for him. :( he's hot 2..haaay =]] great movie, my favorite ever including harry potter.

  • Christopher Walken is very affecting in this scene, in the entire film...and very hot as well.

  • chyeah he's hot=] this movie is the best!

  • Walken himself said that he prepared for this scene by looking at a photo of himself taken when he was a little boy. And then, Niagara Falls, lol.

  • Why would seeing a childhood photo of himself make him go to the bathroom?

  • Go to the bathoom? Wtf? I'm talkin about when he breaks down crying. He got all emotional after looking at the pic, Walken said

  • LOL! I was joking, you ninny!

  • @Kittykatzen

agreed with everything. I've thought it for almost 6 years now :-)

  • @nickysgurl09 he's hot???/ with those bulging eyeballs and strange looking face?? harry potter??????

  • @judgerofwars You're lame :P
