Last year Scotland raised £49.2 billion in taxes. This was exclusive of oil, natural gas, whisky and other revenues paid in London by Scottish companies headquartered there. In all the total amount, if paid into the exchequer of an independent Scotland, would be in the region of £75 billion. Instead this money was paid to the London Exchequer, £30 billion of which was returned to Scotland.

The oil is in Scottish waters, just like the English have their own too. Whether we decide to join the EU or go it alone like Norway, will be decided by the Scottish people in the referendum.
