If you want to "test drive" a new stereo system or speakers, there isn't any thing better than Supertramp. Their range and dynamics will push the limits of any speaker out there...
Just remember, this is the work of Supertramp, not Hodgson, It took the entire band to make such crisp arrangements and haunting melodies. Saw Supertramp twice.
Excellent song..and what a nice visual touch as well. Bravo! I heard this on the radio last night, and had blocked it for some reason for many many years. Im glad to have remembered it now. Ive got it programmed in My Fav's!
The harmonica intro reminds me of some of the music in Red Dead Redemption as well as the song played by "Harmonica" in "Once Upon a Time in the West".
People should boycott Tektronics products. They treat their employees very poorly, and more so since the acquisition by Danaher. Thing is it's not much better with Agilent or Rohde & Schwarz, just to name those two. You can't test ethics with an oscilloscope, can you?
On the 'tech stuff', it is what has allowed this particular video to remain on YouTube while all other videos using this album cut have been removed, as this is a technical video and not strictly an entertainment or artistic video (as I am not an artist but rather an engineer, so I have limited artistic ability!).
I am glad to have been part of keeping Roger Hodgson's work alive on YouTube.
happy a rich Dutch dude invested in Rick and Roger and that Canada and Brazil were cool enough to first recognise that Supertramp was a really cool band, to me crime of the century was their best work...proof ? the album still stands well on it's own and will for a very long time.
The commercial authorities really screwed this album up in how they recorded it off the orginal master. I got to listen to it in its virgin form with it really pumped up on some Yamaha 1000 infinite base speakers. There was a lot of Columbian rolling around the city during that time as well. The stars seemed to line up with Black Sabbath (Rick Davis) mixing it up with Michael Jackson (Roger Hodgson). But then Roger went prancing off tip toeing through the tulips.

Society, in general, may have a 50:50 brain:no brain relationship, but not Roger Hodgson and 'School' aficionados ... they ARE more like 600:6 ... and of those six, they did probably not appreciate the video effects ...
Those that like Roger's work are pretty sharp people.

Timeless classic, beautiful song. Best piano solo ever played in a song. And thank you for the up load. That is the best version and It has very good sound quality.
Interesting that harmonies, whether voice or instrument, which we subjectively find so pleasing, and as they build in number of notes and complexity, are expressed on the scope as increasingly more "chaotic" than a single, sustained note.
And regarding the damnable copyright issues, I find your use of the O-scope inspired. Thanks, uploadj.
