And to hear this dude( not ever goin to use his name) do one of my fav. pantera songs just made me relize that the fuck that killed dime shot the wrong man. RIP Dimebag
I hear you, man. Pat Lachman just doesn't do Phil's vocals justice at ALL on this. Not to say Pat isn't a good vocalist, by any means, but I will always adhere to my opinion that Philip's baritone voice is the ONLY voice for a band as heavy as Pantera.
why do you people comment about phil in this hes not even in it and why talk shit about himk he is fucking an amazing vocalist and down and superjoint ritual kick major ass to
actually they were STILL glam ever after phil came in. Phil came in at Power Metal. And pantera was slowly getting heavier and heavier. you can tell if you listen to their albums. phil just gave it a little boost, is all.
i still have the ticket on my wall it was such a brutal day saw slipknot, korn, soulfy, machinehead, ill nino, metallica and DIMEBAG...rip brother u rocked to the grave
Well phil was the reason the band split. If they kicked phil out and found a new singer, Pantera would lose a crucial part to their whole "sound". If it wasn't for Phil and his drinking/drug antic's, Damageplan wouldnt have come to be and Dime probably wouldnt have been killed.
idk, no-one honestly knows why nathan killed dime, ive heard everything from nathans own lyrics he wrote - - someone said it was a pantera lyric or song, to where he read the interview everyone knows about that phil gave "tongue in cheek" ;p
im still on venn's side of it. neverthe-less he still dissed pantera 2 years prior and didnt give a shit about pantera until dime was killed. yeah he was a good lyricist, but damn..
i was there to see my fave band and i wass right in the heart of the pit and i almost got killed but other than that damageplan's perfermance beat the shit out of the other bands that played at download hat year R.I.P brother Dime!
If only Phil just had the surgery instead of taking heroin as a pain killer. Pantera would probably still be together and dime would probably still be alive today...
true. when he did want to take a year off when his back was hurting, instead, he started down and superjoint ritual. my point: even if he did have the surgery, pantera probably would've still broken up. but hey, you never know
Well im so fucking glad that on Pantera's last tour in 2001, the rest of the band could play their fucking intruments. Phil was just shit at that whole show. When i saw them live. Detroit did not deserve that.
BULLSHIT. That video on youtube of Phil acting all sad going "Dimebag...he's dead...ahhh...oh man...I can't believe it..." is about as genuine as a flea with an 8-inch dick. Puh-lease. Poor acting, Phil. You should be ashamed, and you didn't deserve to be at the funeral.
You shut the fuck up, you buttmonkey. Phil was great in his time, but he fucked over the entire Pantera nation. And said Dime should fucking get beaten to death shortly afterward. Karma is a motherfucker, and I hope that braggart gets his soon. U R An Ass
Did I just call who a buttmonkey? I may have, but that was a month or so ago. Calling someone names on here doesn't make you 12. Then again, neither does jumping in someone else's argument...hint...hint....
phil never said that dimebag should be beaten to death, he said he needed to get his ass whupped (something like that) as in he needed to be tought a lesson. also man, dime and phil were like brothers their whole life, y dont you think phil was sad when dimebag died?
Well Phil actually said "That dude needs to be severly beaten". I think phil will be haunted for the rest of his life for what he said. Although, if Dime wasnt killed. I think they would have made up and recorded another album. What if Nathon Gale had kill both Abbott brothers? What would the world be saying then?
why do you love DimeBagDarrell so much? Is it because you still have a Pantera cassette tape lodged up your ass?
You soooooooo love DimeBagDarrell that you have a replica of his guitar and you stick it up your ass everynight and go. Ohhhh ohhh DimeBagDarrell keep doing that !!
Why do you dislike him so much? Did he stick his guitar up your girlfriend's ass every night while she said "Ohhh Ohhh Dime keep doing that". I hope karma gets your smart ass too fuckstick.
Yea me too, I discovered Pantera and Dime after he was dead. :( Even though I still feel very sad when I think about the fact his dead, and I didn't even know who he was when he was alive.
Thats sad you didn't know him when he was alive, I remember the day i heard on the news i was 16 years old and a huge pantera fan, infact my band at the time Lost in Death had plans to cover several pantera songs (i was the vocalist) I ran over to my guitarist's house and busted in and told him the news, she didnt believe me. We checked AOL news and there sure enough we saw the truth.. later that night we drank Whiskey in his honor and listened to every pantera/damageplan song we had. RIP Dime!
i was young when pantera was around, and when dime died. like you, i also didnt know who he was until after he died, and yet, i, like you still feel sad about his death. i wouldve love to see them live
Lucky you , the time I discovered Pantera Dime was allready dead :S FGS why I didn't discover pantera earlier , I would have travelt the world 2 meet Dimebag!
So glad I got to see Damageplan that day, we were waiting to see Slayer, but as they were late (bus problems I think) the promoters put Damageplan in Slayer's slot and Slayer played Damageplans slot on the second stage later that day... it was a fucking amazing show, although way too short!
That's allways with concerts , Weeks before you thinking of going and really wanna be there , weeks slight away and once you bin there for you know it your home again. And you have your head full of great memories , but allways and allways it's 2 short , even it's a whole weekend it stays 2 short:P
Once he was fucked on Hammer maybe but earlier he was the man. Not just vocals but attitude and energy. What Damageplan had was nothing like Pantera in their prime. Anyone who cant see that is a fuckin chump.
Phil didn't change shit dumb fuck, Phil happened to join the band when the entire band vince phil and rex wanted to take off the make up and get heavier....jesus christ dude it's just a walk cover
You must not be a PANTERA fan, because if you were you would never talk BS. Also have you ever seen PANTERA live?? All this punk pat did was use good people to make make a name for himself. He wished he could be like Phil..
way better than phils. hits the notes better, growls better, and he doesnt take a breath ever 2 words like phil and rob zombie do, they say like every 2 words then take a breath for 2 words then say 1 word then try and get the crowd to say a word then say 2 words then breath again
Matter of opinion i guess. But how many shows u go to where Phil does that? I been to a couple and he wasnt breathing every 2 words, at least it didnt seem like it. Coulda been later on when he was all fucked up on H and unfit though. But Phil in his prime no way dude. Its also about stage presence and attitude.
You must not be a PANTERA fan, because if you were you would never talk BS. Also have you ever seen PANTERA live?? All this punk pat did was use good people to make make a name for himself. He wished he could be like Phil..
Fuck you, you dumb motherfucker! Pat Lachman is not a punk - he is a seriously talented musician/songwriter/guitarist/vocalist who made great music for years before anyone knew his name. Then he proved his meddle/metal and wrote some of the best shit Rob Halford ever had the pleasure of singing over and then did an awesome job with Damageplan (incl. singing a lot of the Pantera stuff BETTER than Phil). You think a 'punk' just lucks into playing with some of the greatest metal icons of all time?!
Peroid my ass noob. Were u there? If so thats the only reason u say that. So obvious. Damageplan vocals got nothing on Phils vocals. "Heavier" dont mean shit if its just hoarse shouting. Phil could growl and scream with meaning. Go back to school poser.
Yeah guess he didnt wanna be just a Phil clone which is fair enuf.. or maybe he felt he couldnt do Phil like Phil could and that Dplan was just gonna be seen as a ex-Pantera washout retirement band. One things for sure Pantera and Dplan are totally different and i say Pantera was the better band. They had a unique chemistry.
And you believe a word that comes out of that dumb bitch's mouth?! Pat was a HUGE Pantera fan so why would he mind singing a couple of Pantera songs? And if Vinnie and Dime wanted to do more Pantera stuff then they should've called the band Pantera, not Damageplan. Case closed.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
damageplan do better and they are much heavier than pantera this concert with damageplan played it was the biggest mosh pit ever known ot mankind and the weekend PEROID!!!!
Its not a better version. Phils version was better, his voice came from the depth of his tortured soul. But coz its Dime and Vinny here the kickass riff and beats are still the same.
i grew up listening to pantera but by the time i was old enough to go to one of ther shows they had unknowingly split up so when damageplan did this, i was fuckin ecstatic, well just seein dime & vince on stage was off the wall enuff for me. tht was deff the best download i went 2
That's cool. I saw them when they were still Pantera, and then about 4 months ago, I met Vinnie Paul in the casino I work at. He was walking by, and I tried stopping him as I asked him if his name was Vinnie. He put both hands up in 'rock on' symbols, stuck his tounge out at me, and kept walking. I was extatic. I talked to him for a few minutes after that, some about Dime, some about his career. What a great experience.
your a bunch of fucking idiots...he got it right...that is damageplan playing (dimebag's new band)...they covered respect at download 2004...pantera had split up long before then. this was a few months before dimebag died and it was a fucking awesome gig!
... you are beyond a moron respect? THE SONGS CALLED WALK YOU FUCKING DOUCHE now get your poser ass out the fuck of here fucking impossible to mistake the name of this song even if you dont listen to pantera
argh shit, now i look like an idiot. whatever, song names are for pussys. it doesnt matter what it's called, thats not the point. i love pantera and its a fucking cool song.
yeah wasnt that just awesome - the stampeede of people charging towards the main stage as dime played the walk intro. I'd love to see a vid of the whole song if anyone has it?
yeh it rocked, id already seen slayer before but so when that shitty ozzy impersonator sed 'damageplan will be replacing them' i fuckin stood in the same spot right until i saw them come up on stage, then when dime kicked in to walk i was almost stampeded.
it was lucky i got to see them, because it was originally supposed to have been slayer up there, but they were delayed with their equipment, and couldnt set up on the main stage, so dp replaced them.
im so glad they did, and it is an experience ill take with me to my grave.
R.I.P Dimebag, and thanks for being such an inspiration
i was there on the bank. he started of by saying how him and vinnie never let us down, and that he saw some people with pantera t-shirts on, and that he wanted to re-pay them in a small way.
when i heard the opening bars to this song, i almost pooped myself.. goosebumps allover, i stood up straight away and started screaming to the lyrics straight away. lost my voice through that!
now i realized i may have hurt yalls feelings, but that wasnt my intention. dont cry please. i dont need to get over myself for one cuz im happy wit the way i am. the dipshit Nathan Gale was overly obsessed, i am not ,so go fuck yourself with the "same mind set" thing. pantera fans have always been the most loyal out of any band around. even now still see pantera shirts and shit everywhere

i grew up listening to pantera but by the time i was old enough to go to one of ther shows they had unknowingly split up so when damageplan did this, i was fuckin ecstatic, well just seein dime & vince on stage was off the wall enuff for me. tht was deff the best download i went 2
docchud 4 years ago
That's cool. I saw them when they were still Pantera, and then about 4 months ago, I met Vinnie Paul in the casino I work at. He was walking by, and I tried stopping him as I asked him if his name was Vinnie. He put both hands up in 'rock on' symbols, stuck his tounge out at me, and kept walking. I was extatic. I talked to him for a few minutes after that, some about Dime, some about his career. What a great experience.

yeah wasnt that just awesome - the stampeede of people charging towards the main stage as dime played the walk intro. I'd love to see a vid of the whole song if anyone has it?
ToMiNaTioN 4 years ago
yeh it rocked, id already seen slayer before but so when that shitty ozzy impersonator sed 'damageplan will be replacing them' i fuckin stood in the same spot right until i saw them come up on stage, then when dime kicked in to walk i was almost stampeded.
docchud 4 years ago
it was lucky i got to see them, because it was originally supposed to have been slayer up there, but they were delayed with their equipment, and couldnt set up on the main stage, so dp replaced them.
im so glad they did, and it is an experience ill take with me to my grave.
