@maribakumon This video was made two years ago, things may have updated. I use fraps now. Even though you need to pay for it, it's definitely worth the money.

@gytdoo I use Fraps too but it doesn't record the entire screen which is what I want.

@maribakumon In the general tab there is an option called "Monitor Aero Desktop (DWM)." Check that and it'll record your desktop. You need to be running an Aero theme, not basic. If you're on xp, sorry, you're out of luck.

you can also use options>program options>directory for recording>use user specfified directory that would help

@thejobro987 camstudio will normally save them where the program is installed. Just got to your program files and you should be able to find it from there.

I've tried CamStudio without the codec file before, and it just looks like a gigantic, pixelated mess when you upload it xD

It doesnt work for me, t just keeps giving me the error "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail" Any ideas?

actually it records HD, except try to record off of a you tube video and you will get the same lines carried from their videos.... I had a hypercam codec that didn't do this... except I cannot find it any wheres. :( Some reason on a reboot it disappeared, )x" so if I find it again I'm gonna save the setup to my desktop been days and I cannot find ''x( it "x( :( '"Dx"" )x )x )x"... :D .............:O...............­xD uh.... yeah!.. what the... lol.... :)

@xXMoOnCaKesXx To record another youtube video and put it in your own is stealing without permission. If you must record a youtube video, get an addon that lets you download videos. (Don't ask me where to get them)

if you want to record your whole screen in High Definition, just change your screen resolution to 1280x720.

Yes i have a ? I want to recor dme playing Runescape if you ever herd of it . Well anyway its like this it doesnt look good but this does but in yours in hd and mine in sucky format you still cant read the words how do you make it so the words are readable?

Make sure you use the codec in the video. Also the resolution is really high, so if you watch it in full screen the words should be readable. Also make sure you are playing runescape in 720p HD so you can record it to fill the screen.
