I never heard of this set playset and I had a LOT of He-Man toys. Looks so cool. Why is it the only toys like these are Imaginext toys? I went to Toys R Us and they sell He-Man figures in 2 packs for $30 and that's it. I remember toys use ot be hafl of what they are today. You'd pay $5 for a figure instead of $10 and playsets were all over the place. I miss those days.
I got this for x-mas back then but no one would help me put it together. I still have the box in my attic but i don't know what kind of shape it's in.
WHat was with the giant cat head? It clearly was an attempt to shift this toy to Thundercats fans as well as he-man fans, as it did look like a Thundera/Cat's Lair playset. This came out way too late, about 86 or 87, just as the original MOTU popularity was waning. This, coupled with the extortionate price resulted in may Eternia playsets being recalled.
I had that as a kid from 3-4 years or age, then it went bye bye. I regret not keeping it due to its value. I enjoy the new figures because of their detail.
Arrrgggg................
Wonderfull Video. I love the Masters Toys. Please see my Series on youtube : Fantastic Toys and Merchandise, You can see old MASTERS and STAR WARS Toys. In Episode 5 you can see the very rar German Two Pack.
This is great and brings back memories and inspired me to get my old one down. I have posted short video of it working on here so click my name. Def the best playset
This cost over or close to $100. Castle Greyskull and Snake Mountain playsets alone were around $50. I remember Eternia and the G.I. Joe aircraft carrier being the two biggest playsets in the 80's. Currently on e-bay Eternia is going for $200-$400 and it's never easy to find a complete playset.
I did take up a lot of space but complete and put together, it was really wonderful. I actually did not have the space for it very long but it made for a great display high atop a dresser. The towers were moved closer together and the tracks could not be fully connected but I attached parts of the tracks to the front and it looked really nice. I left mine that way until 2005.
I don't recall the exact price but I think (with tax) it was about $75. I do remember thinking I wouldn't get it because of the price and I felt a tad guilty asking for it because of that. Of course, it probably went for a lot cheaper once it was reduced for clearance but I really don't recall seeing this playset in the toy stores a lot.
Aladin's cave or is it Cat liar or this play set is just cool : )

one of the main problems is the track was made of incredibly brittle plastic good luck finding one that's undamaged.

Just mail it to me and I'll be happy to put it together for you! ;-)

@teepop sadly it's just the box nothing else. I lost all the pieces to it over the years.

@chaseman94
Ironically, you could get a nice amount just for the box by itself. The playset is that rare!

Personally I think Mattel made Eternia because the Transformers had just came out with Fortress Maximus at the time.

@eshaw2115 No, Fortress Maximus came out a year after Eternia.
