I must indeed say that this is a nice phone. I got mine on Thurs and I like it. It is very customizable like the iphone and i think that it is a great phone. I especially like that you can make ur own ringtones from your music thats one it thru a program in the app market.

It doesnt have a keyboard and using the touch screen is hard when it comes to texting since the touch keyboard is small. I have a g1 and I use the keyboard. I'd recommend jsut getting the g1 since it's the same phone

You have to remember that the required plan prices are not necessarily AT&T's doing, Apple requires an unlimited data plan, and they set the price, not AT&T.

Apple does indeed take a cut of monthly revenue, but they are in no position to demand a mandatory data plan.
