There are alot of things he could do...said leave unfinished businesses that would consume half of his successor term to finish...resign early to cut opposition momentum...appoint friends to vital positions....change the way things conduct...or as we Americans said "delay" things. Of course, then new appointee will have to hire his friends and if things do not work, blame it on them.
Politics...just another formality game behind that ugly truth of "I shall kill you when you are not looking".
It's a strange situation Dan Hannan is in. He doesn't believe the EU can be 'reformed from within' as his party does, but he does believe he can reform said PARTY from within.
I'd love to ask someone who probably speaks to him in Brussels like Mr Farage what reasons he gives in private for sticking it out with the Cameroons.
Daniel Hannan is the man. I bought his book btw and finished last week. Im glad i did cause i learnt a lot. Brittian is in a desperate shape and we need the people who are going to be affected by the policies made to be making the decisions. We need to get out of Europe the quango state!
When it comes to the Irish vote on the European constitution... whoops the Lisbon treaty im touring there to get people to vote NO!! Any advice on how best to do it, anyone?
BBC is notorious Europhile and takes money from the EU. See by the tone of the question by the presenter as he trys to slant interview. They have to treat UKIP like a major political party now and it hurts them...but they can still be biased and slant questions and leave out news they should be reporting. Lots of people are refusing to pay their Tele Tax because of this. You want to find the truth you have to research and not trust the BBC or the government to tell you the truth.
Do they? They've managed to almost completely bury the groundbreaking story of an obscure sixteen-year-old fringe party beating New Lab and the Socialist Eurocrats (sorry, the 'Liberal' *cough* 'Democrats', pffff) in a nationwide election. In this their handy bogeymen of the BNP, with its piffling two MEPs elected to a parliament in foreign lands which can't even legislate, has been most useful.
UKIP will have to continue to deepen and professionalise the grassroots; BBC will never play ball
That's something I've never understood about UK politics, its this fear of the BNP.
The BNP are vile, but insignificant, yet labour, conservative, liberal dem all play this grandstanding game of 'who hates the BNP the most'.
Labour point fingers at the BNP over their comments about muslims, because it draws people's attention away from the fact that it was Labour who assisted my country in the murder of a million muslims in Iraq.
I'm finding this strange ; Even though I can still download a movie at about 800kb/s, for me to stream a ukip or ron paul vid on utube - or anybody criticizing the government/regime, it takes about half an hour to load up! I think that is what security services mean by pro-active fire-walls, welcome to orwellian china.
I'm an American Ron Paul supporter and learned about UKIP after Daniel Hannan's bout of truth a few months back. I absolutely support UKIP and called all (two) of my UK distant relatives days before the election and "converted" one LibDem and one Conservative to UKIP.
They were very willing to listen and engage with a very "different" kind of outsider. Perhaps a technique for campaigning next time around?
I made a couple of videos to try to help their cause, one actually got linked into Nigels Facebook page by a friend of his. They would do well to pull Dan Hannan and Roger Helmer from the conservative ranks, they are more libertarian, and I think their ideals would lend well to a party like UKIP! I heard Hannan on the "Hannity" radio program the other day again, he mentioned UKIP's success quite joyfully. I believe there is mutual admiration between he and Nigel.
Have any of yous two seen the Peter Schiff videos of him talking to the Libertrian party in America? Its very good stuff and he gives them some great advice.
I know DH and RH would do great in UKIP but Conservatives are a much bigger party. Staying there and converting the Conservative ranks to UKIPs thinking is a stratiegy to follow. Even UKIP joining Conservatives or at least educating them would be benificial.
Still.. UKIP and Danniel make one hell of a team :)
Well done UKIP. It is a shame the BNP did get two seats and I do believe that this is because UKIP was given a very biased show when under the scrutiny of the presenters of any main stream media broadcast. Can anybody else smell a rat. The main stream media is all corrupt. Even under the face of such adversity and the expenses scandal, UKIP still did well. I am very pleased for Nigel Farage and the team. Power can corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Take a look at the EU commission.
Bravo, lads! I can tell you that from across the pond American conservatives are celebrating your victory. I hope for 2012 that Americans will elect someone who will graciously accept a return of the Churchill bust back to the oval office. Cheers, mates! The best of us haven't forgotten the importance of the Anglo-American relationship. We stand with you still.
"You may think UKIP are dicks and Dan is a pussy, but that makes you an arsehole. If we don't fuck assholes, we're going to have our dicks and pussies all covered in shit!"
The BNP appeal to those on the left due to their very left wing economic policys some bordering on Marxist. If you look at what parties BNP voters previously voted for the overwelping majority voted for Labour in recent times
Isn't it funny how people like this aren't capable of putting across their point without resorting to playground style namecalling - tells you everything you need to know about them and their wit and wisdom.
I always thought that the exended coverage (yawn) of the mp expenses was to cover something else .. .. Nigel is right - we never got to have a debate on that EU thing, because of it!!
But . . . it backfired, because we voted UKIP with a very positive force - despite the smokescreen, veil and mirrors !!!
It is better to have him in the conservatives so he will have influence in such a big party. He can help UKIP while trying to "convert" conservative members.
I don't think so. I've been watching tv for some time and they just call them ekstremists or nationalists or populists so huh... Propaganda on a full scale.
what piss's me off is that they say all the votes for the anti eu parties (ukip no2eu and dreaded bnp, i hate to compare them to anyone) was because they dont like the major parties. No, because they are an even bigger threat now to the elites who run the press and want an EU superstate.
