Tamar is an idiot with a beautiful voice. I do however prefer Toni and the grammy's speak for themselves! I think considering that I know a lot about singing, that Tamar has a better voice than Toni! Tamar has more versatility in her voice than Toni. She can belt and whistle much much more better and her runs are amazing, and I didn't necessarily hear her best singing here, I heard it during Braxtons Family Values. I hope that in her new album she includes several different types of music, so she'll be able to actually show her vocal abilities.

just because one is ridiculously talented doesn't mean the other can't be a great, great talent. and both are to be respected. besides, i'm gonna let the jury remain out on tamar until she gets her album out - her debut was pretty terrible but 'try me' def demonstrated that she's matured considerably. who knows what she can do now on tape?

I agree with everyone else: Tamar is a great vocalist yet a certain presence is lacking. I think her instrument has many truckloads of potential, just in terms of physical capability, but she comes up short in comparisons because she doesn't have Toni's musical intelligence. Toni's always been a highly-gifted interpreter of lyrics, gifted with a sense of restraint. Tamar's not bad - if they weren't related, we'd be talking about her as yet another talented 90s singer who couldn't get her due.

Tamar has a lot more vocal skills, her riffs and runs are very hard to do and I have to say that I'm very positively surprised about her whistle register, sounds very pleasant to my ears and is very melodious as well.
