  • Where did you get the parts, eg the gasket set etc? i have a 1987 yz250 myself and cant find any parts. please help thanks

  • I had a 87 YZ 125, man I loved that bike! Anyway you should have left the bike white and red. Thoose 85 to 90 YZ's were the best looking in my book. The yellow and black one's were cool too. I hated the gay ass pinkish purple YZ's from 91 through 95! The 96 white blue YZ was good looking too. The curent blue is just ok in my book. The new optional white YZ's are a little better looking than the blue one's.

  • you dont have to put gasket sealant if u have new gaskets .... real messy .... tsk tsk tsk

  • so you put the doo-hickie on the thingamigig...

  • how much did you get the bike for?

  • aderfe oreo video mravo sou

  • @jamesjrcombat Yes, at the end, i realized that i did a mess with the painting :)

But it was just because i wanted to upgrade it to 2001 yz frame.

  • @Gi0Roc nah I disagree, I think the new paint job looks really good. Just my opinion though.

  • @spsickfastsupra Yes, it was the first time for me and i didn't know how to use the red sealant.

I checked again the engine and i removed all the red gasket by using just the original gasket from a yamaha dealer. I did this one year ago.

  • great vid!

  • Whats the song?????????

  • @MultiKawasaki08 My reason

  • Nice job on that bike. Now we've gotta fix those capris....

  • @JakeEwing5 I do not know what "capris" mean, sorry i'm not an english speaker.

  • personaly i think the old yz's look better in white and red.

  • @donbrashsux are you serious, it in the description!

  • Gee really nice bike..what year is it

  • Nice work!

  • im rebuilding my 1979 yz100f 2stroke on top of piston it says book 1 and like a 13 digit number wtf lol does this mean its the piston that came with the bike or standard or how else can i know if its oversized or not

  • hey man quick question a got free sprocket for my bike its a 13 t rite now it has a 10 tooth in the front and 41 in the back could i just slap it on or do i need a bigger one in back?wheel is locking up when i try to bump start it with the 13 t and 41 in back?its a yz100

  • sounsd weird, its not fresh like a freshly rebuilt 2 smoker sounds like, lol nice bike but why the fuck would u put sealant on the case when u had a gasket

  • wats the name of that song or artist? , i l ike it .

  • Guys, I've added the video about the upgrade to the 2001 YZ model.

  • what engine did you fit on their i wanna do it to my 79 yz100 also is 1st up or down on yours

  • @davison1021 sorry, i didn't understand.. what do you mean?

  • what engine did you fit on their i wanna do it to my 79 yz100

  • started of like a nice original yz 250 in need of work and ended up like a dirt shitty field bike

  • wow ur a fucken noob. bike looks good, but u fucked urself over on the engine. especially by putting that fucked up piston back in. and the other is putting gasket sealant! NOOOOOOB! never put gasket sealant. and always replace piston, except if its brand new, but urs looked like it was blown up.

  • @motocrossXisXawesome You too are a noob because you didn't read that I've changed the piston with a ProX one.

  • @speedking: with a big mallet

  • @Gi0Roc Yes, it was very big. Actually, i used two big mallets.

  • how did you split the case?

  • i got my rear shock out.. how do i paint it?

  • @BIGSHAGGYDOGG it is not a good idea because the paint will not stay so long.. however, you have to remove the spring and to use a primer and then the paint..

  • @Gi0Roc ok.. thanks, i wanted to paint because mine is pink.. lol :P all i need to know is how to get the spring off the shock absorber

  • @BIGSHAGGYDOGG You just have to use a screw for the two upper metal rings ;)

  • @BIGSHAGGYDOGG okies :) thanks m8

  • hey good job man it looks great

  • the only thing ive rebuilt is my atv, it took me aabout 6 months because my dad kept on working on it when i was at school and he was breaking all kinds of shit in it

  • oh so you got it from somebody that paints cars?

did they add some kind of additive to make it flexible?

  • @bubbah12345 at first, I added the primer and than its paint with some additives.

  • Nice rebuild...Can you Tell me Name of This Song Please?

  • @brcalzbastru My reason - Linkin park

  • How long did it take to rebuild this? Good job btw man

  • @The15YearOldStoner Two weeks or less I think.. not so much..

  • whats the special paint i dont know what the panel beater is

need some paint cause i might restore my polaris 250 or paint it to sell

  • @bubbah12345 I mean the coachbuilder

  • @Gi0Roc lol i still dont kno what that is

  • @bubbah12345 LOL Sorry, i'm not an english speaker.

I mean the man in the machine shop who paint the cars frame.

  • everythings nice except the seat

do you have any problems with the painted plastics cracking of flaking, if not what did you paint it with

  • @bubbah12345 No crack or so because I used some special paint from the panel beater

  • beautifully done.. would look better with white and black plastics witht he blue frame

  • Dude,do you want to borrow some more red silicone?I think you didnt put it on heavy enough,You should use a drywall knife to gob it on some more,or a cement

trial,to smooth it out,I think they sell red silicone in 5 gallon buckets, you should check it out.

  • um couldnt afford a new piston? n rings

  • @ch0l0sk8r already changed with a ProX ;)

  • i like the time you spent on the motor but whats up with the nigger rigging once you started painting?

  • o and i only use Wisco perfomance products in my toys sorry :)

  • well i took the cylender head to a machine shop, my frend said i can bore it out 2 full millimeters before i have to start doing power valve work and all tht crazt shit, so we agreed we will go 10 overand ill be fine and still make more power, (my piston melted and fucked my cylender)

  • o yea and the stock or standard bore for this bike is 68mmby68mm but whats the next size over????/ anybody know?

  • @k3ith2x23 Next size is 68,25mm, then 68,50, then 68,75 and so on..

    try a ProX Piston..

  • are you sure thats a 1987 model, bc i got a 1986 and it liikes exactly like mine... my piston needs to be replaced as well as the rings and spindle bearing on the rad, Gaskets, o-rings , and my cylender walls were fucked up so i gota bore the cylender over idk how much.

  • @k3ith2x23 Yes, i'm pretty sure, its serial number start with 2HH-xx so it's a 1987 model.

  • wow thats a nice bike but omg those colors r ugly as fuck

  • Good invention that home made Clutch tool A+++

  • @leroy351 LOOL :)

  • Ya that other guy was right you should have restored it to original colors your paint job sucks with just a rattle can and you should have bought a new seat cover that one sucks I have one for my 1988 YZ 250 from a while back it looks awsome like a factory ride with kevlar edges and a gray center and red on the sides from ceet company I also did a better job on painting mine I had it powder coated hammertone grey with black specs like a works bike. Oh did you rebuild the rear shock I did.

  • nice man, i got a red/white 87 yz250 im starting to rebuild it now. the crank is froze up and its missing the whole top end, but it will be worth the money and time. i love the powerband on these suckers!

  • @AfterShock491 Good luck, man! Hope your work will be great! :)

  • Nice going man , pacience is a Virtue!!!! oh yeah

  • can you just spray paint the plastics white?

  • Should have restored it to it's former glory!

    That blue looks shit..

  • @scaryleary that's true.. I know!

  • What is the song?

  • @dirtastegood My Reason

  • @Gi0Roc Thanks, and nice rebuild.

  • i just did a 83 yz 80.. its almost the same just different plastic and color.. parts can be hard to find lol nice bike

  • How did u paint the frame like what kind of paint did u use

  • @199hammond I don't know the name, it's the same paint which you can use for the cars..

  • i have a small chip in my 1989 cr 125 by the shifter its not to bad but with in the mouth i have to do the same thing dam but great vid goood job

  • looked better when you first got it

  • you need more then 10 differend lubricants for maintenance, i have a 125 2stroke, Yammahah ha ha ha ha.

  • @cba999casey Just one, or two ;)

  • @Gi0Roc the gearbox, the 2stroke, the axe of the wheels and brake caliper, brakes, axe steerwheel, clutch cabel, clutch arm, brake and clutch handle, supension and main axe of the rear supension. watch the workshop of a cross bike.

  • @DeeJayMiikkii you haven't seen this bike yet... this was just a preview; i'll post a video as soon as it is possible...

  • Bravo!!!

  • @icxnc1 grazie :)

  • could u have ruined that bike any more?

  • @domandybiking Yep, in a slope, may be.

(My bike is good now, all the work i did was necessary)

  • Do you think I would be able to fit a 01 yz250 engine into an 01 yz125 frame,

    thanks

  • @goofballs911 I think you can't because they have different size: the first engine is bigger than the second one.

  • Hi you seem like you know alot about bikes, could i put a 1996 rm125 motor in a 2000 rm125 frame.

  • @bogie89 Hi, mate! Sorry, but i've never had a RM so i can't tell you if it will fit or not. However, try to do a photo matching between the two models, then try to find the size of a 2000 125 rm. If they are the same, more or less, you can try to do the job. Maybe the bolt's holes will not fit with the old engine, but who cares? you can modify them in order to make them fit well.

    Cheers!

  • how long did it take to build it and tht?

  • @seblad1 Not so much. I did this work during the summer; it tooks me about two weeks or so. Now, i've mounted this engine on a 2001 yz frame. I'm putting the video in few days...

  • well done m8 very nice at the end

  • @seblad1 Thanks, mate. In a few days i'll put a new video about this bike..

  • not really a TOTAL rebuild, didnt replace the piston or anything, but still, awsome job. Love the blue and black colours, I hate white on a bike. It gets all dirty and looks like shit after like a month of riding.

  • F R E E Yamaha Motorbike Manuals to Download - ** yamaharepairmanual (dot) org **

  • mine same bike yeah yz 250 87 ftw

  • Song

  • hell of a job my friend

  • hi im getting the same bike but a 1988 and i was wondering if that is an aftermarket exhaust for it and where can u get one? or will a new yz 250 exhaust work on a 88

  • good job with the rebuild..but as soon as you fall ur paintjob is toast

  • i like the rebuild. i would like to have my 2005 yz250 rebuilt and givin a touchup.

  • @bighurt1700 Thanks! that's an amazing work to do...

  • looked better before the rebuild

  • Good work mate.

I have a YZ250 motorcycle of the year 91 and I want to change the face like you.

Lucky and it will be long.

    A greeting from Andalucia, Spain.

P.D. pardon my English, because I have much level

  • @ertonilinarense Thanks, mate! These bikes are amazing and great! Good luck!

  • ----------10------------------

  • @HopefulsoontobeBIKER Thanks a lot

  • @pinchharmonics Always new gaskets!

  • looked better white plastics

  • I had a 87 Yz 250, wish I still had it....Great Video man! 5*

  • @jfrost77hd Thanks a lot, mate!

  • thats awsome how long did it take you to do this?

  • @Kawinerd12 about two weeks, during the summer

  • When I become King, I'm gonna make it illegal not to own a 2st dirt bike. Great rebuild !

  • @TS50ER TS50ER, my Highness! :)

  • LOL LOL

  • @Gi0Roc those engines on the 87's 250.... beast!! worth rebuilding, cuzin smoked me on my 1999 250..... shit those things are beastttt

  • @deniswashere Yep, that engines are great!

  • dshinskey<<<cant you ride yours in the snow????!!!????

  • Great Video! Rebuilding dirtbike vids like this make me want to go out and rip up the trails, But it's winter here and tons of snow. Can't wait until the spring!

  • I know what you feel! It's the same for me! During this time, it rains always so I can't go and ride my bikes; it's the same for my cousin, too. We can't ride during this period. :(

  • @Gi0Roc It's even worse, just traded my TTR 125 for a kx 80 big wheel, and it won't run. That just makes me mad, cause it was running 3 days ago. Atleast it's winter.

  • @DShinskey What kind of problem it has?

  • @Gi0Roc It had no spark, a plug was loose going into the CDI box, plugged it in, now it has a weak spark. I hooked up 4 diff plugs and they all show weak spark. It's so frustrating. I researched for hours, can't find anything reasonable. I took off the stator cover, maybe it had condensation in there. Who knows.

  • @DShinskey First of all, clean all of the wires contacts and after this, check the ohm values inductors from the stator. Then, try to read how many volts comes out from your stator when you try to make it ride.

  • @Gi0Roc Ok. I will give that a shot.

  • @DShinskey Yep, a lot of time it is a stator problem :)

  • not being stupid or nothing but after spending all that time rebuilding the engine why put the old piston back in or at least you could have decoked the crown it may just be me but i've picky over things like this

  • @nobbydillon by reading the other comments it is possible to realize that I've already changed the piston with a ProX one ;)

  • hairy muff i just finished doing a 99 cr 125 with pro-x bits the motor feels alot stronger

  • You seem to know what you are doing but can I make 1 suggestion after building litterally 100s og engines from atv,dirtbike/ricerockets,harleys to race car motors try using Black weatherstrip adheasive fot holding the gaskets. Someone gave me this tip years ago and it works awesome! Just a thought otherwise 5 stars! fun doing those power valves hugh they constantly were a weak spot on that engine.

  • @mrbobsshow Thanks for this tip! I'll try it next time! :)

  • Chek out my P/M if you want the parts their yours just for the price of shipping. I built 3 of these and have new parts left over. sealed in the box

  • @mrbobsshow yep, i've already sended you a reply... just few minutes ago with a PM. :)

  • nice rebuild it looks sick as hell.i put an 01 yz 125 to gether from sratch and it like a striped ass ape

  • awsome!!! why buy new when you can rebuild?? i just got done with my 1993 yz125=)

  • @yzkx711 That's true! you can rebuild everything and it's funny!

  • looks new :D!! nice job

  • @TheDutchGamers thanks! :)

  • hey do u know were i could find that plastic water pump gear cause my bike just destory it

  • @kuja2k3 Try on ebay, i've found everything there...

  • Nice bike

  • Great Job by the way!

  • What song is this?

  • @BikerBoySpeir My Reason

  • cosa e qll cosa rossa sul carter? come si kiama??

  • @rovy4545 pasta rossa, guarnizioni liquide, silicone rosso... insomma, ha vari nomi a seconda dei gusti.

    In inglese: liquid gasket.

  • @ad017510 Grazie!

  • you should have used motorcycle silacone and give it a couple weeks of riding the pant will chip off and look like shit. you should have cept it the way it looked. to people that try to make old bikes look new. dont do it you just look like a dewsh. save your money and buy a new one. i have a 87 yz 125 that needs new top end and what not i wil show you what the bike should like like. give me a month to make the video.

  • Hey dude i have a question, i am totaly rebuilding an suzuki rm 125 from 1986, and i wanna know somthing maby u can help me :D.. i wanted to paint the things i don't know how to say in english on 3:50 :P and i don't know if i need special paint for that or just normal paint.. plz answer tnx :D

  • @sanderh007 In order to paint the side panles you need a special paint which you find from some local dealer. It's like the car painting...

  • okay tnx dude

  • im rebuilding a 85 yz 250 i was riding it and the chain flew off and cracked were my clutch arm slot and i was wondering were did u order ur bearings from

  • @kuja2k3 I've bought them from a local car dealer. They are the same used on FIAT cars.

  • If possible please send a full parts and cost list, I might do this to mine.

  • I see some people say the older 250 2 stroke engines are sometimes more powerful than newer ones. Is this true?

  • @JuicyFruitFresh Yes, it's true. Trust me.

This old biky is really powerful. Now, i mounted this engine on a 2001 yz 250 frame, it's even better!

  • Wow thats amazing. Thanks for the info!

  • @JuicyFruitFresh I'll put the video about the upgrade in few days if you are interested...
