They can park in emergency zones when they have to. They have lights and sirens too. They can use then when they need, but does that mean they can use it whenever they want? Can they use lights and sirens to go get their lunch?

I drive an emergency vehicle, and you need to be certified and you learn that you only use your exemption from the laws when you need it, not for your own pleasure and convenience. If he was there on a call, then he's good, if he's eating a sandwich, he's not.

I don't know about Portland, but some agencies allow officers to park illegally whenever they're on duty.

They might get an urgent call to go save someone's life, would you rather them park correctly and have to run out into the parking lot, or be able to quickly jump in their car and head to the scene?

It's also pretty safe to say that if PFB had to hook to a/the hydrant most people in the area would already know about the fire. There would be a bit of smoke/alarms and such. Someone might get burned to death if firefighters doesn't get access to the hydrant on time, or someone might run accross a road unaware of an oncoming car coming from the left view which is blocked by a police car parking illegally, which might cause the death of that person trying to cross the road. There are reasons and purposes why no parking/stoping signs are put in certain areas.

If the fire firefighters "doesn't" get there in time it wont be because a squad car with direct radio contact with the same dispatch as fire/medic was parked there. If you had car direct contact with the dispatch for police/fire/medic i'd let you park in my driveway if it suited your needs.P.S. there is no supposing; cops can park anywhere. Even if they shared the same radio frequency, doesn't mean the victims will be saved on time. It's best to keep the fire hydrant available at all times and to give the firefighter access to it as soon as possible.

Watch this user's other video, where it shows a police officer buying food in a store, while the fire truck outside waits for the police to move her police car which was blocking the fire hydrant, so that kinda blew your bullshit explanation about them sharing the same radio frequency and about the police officers moving their car away before the fire truck even gets there. No one can guarantee that the police officer can always make it to the fire hydrant on time to move their car away from it.

If it was legal, the Mayor should try justifying to the citizens that if you park illegally, you'd get summons, but a Law Enforcement Officer is allowed to park his vehicle in front of fire hydrant by Pita Pit, not responding to a crime happening there, but to get food.
