  • Thanks for the upload.

Do you still have this rig?

    What games do you play?

  • Your view distance is way low. Why have everything else maxed and leave that low?

  • Which is better for Running this game on High or Max settings without any Lag.

AMD Phenom II X4 945 Processor

    3gb DDR3 RAM

ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB graphics card

    or

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor

    4gb DDR3 RAM

ATI Radeon HD 5750 1GB graphics card

  • AMD Athlon II X4 630 2MB Socket AM3 Processor

    Radeon HD5770 1GB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

    4GB Standard DDR3 1333MHz C9

looking at getting a PC with these specs, would i be able to play gta on pretty good settings, like high?

  • @DNBinca you should be able to,

I would look at a Phenom II x4 over the athlon II though

Phenom is better, and not too much more $

  • @NoRestart

GTA 4 is a horrible console port and a very unoptimized game. Only very expensive PCs would get over 30 FPS. I get 30 FPS in GTA4 and 90 CONSTANT fps in Mafia 2 (which looks better in every way possible).

  • @NoRestart personally cost isn't a factor to me

I enjoy PC gaming because I can mod anything in the game

GTA IV for example at one point I had all buildings in game swapped out to be the actual buildings in NYC

by all means, PS3 AND XBOX 360 are better for the price

but honestly PS3 AND XBOX 360 don't get 100fps in games like gta iv

    they get maybe 30 steady

PC is where you get 60+fps even though 30+fps isn't noticeable to human eye..for recording with fraps it makes a big difference though

  • i got avg 58 fps with my 955 be (non oc'ed), hd5770

  • @8BALL2K10 cool!

my fps is wacky, this was also takin when I had XP, the game runs far better now that I have Win7 x64

but I lost my fraps registrated version when I switched OS's

I will have to get it again before I post videos longer than 30 seconds

  • @Weslo2 it's still great though

i was just wondering why your fps is so low compared to mine!

    got w7 64 bit too!

hope you'll find your registration key! good luck!

  • @FRURMELLL not at all! this fps is outdated anyways

    it's in the high 30's now since I got win7 x64

  • FUCK YOUTUBE AGAIN!

stupid cunts, banned my gta iv lapdance video

saying it contains nudity, are they fucked, there is no nudity in that video

girls in bikini's does not equal nudity, fucking cocksucking pricks

that video had my 3rd highest views and ratings

    thanks youtube, you stupid fruits

  • @Weslo2 Thats fked :s

  • @herojohan88 I've commented so much that I'm not sure which one you're replying to

  • i am getting a problem with gta 4 too i have same graphic card, a intel core 2 quad q9400 @ ~2.7x4 and 3 gb of ddr2(32 bits) and wnidows 7... i get a good fps like 45 on highest settings only it still laggs if i put view distance higher than 1 ?:S somebody know whats causing view distance to suck ?

  • @etnerdnl not sure, my problem isn't to with that, I have an issue of spot lag, where I will be running steady 35+fps then all of a sudden it will drop to 20 then back etc

but if I minimize and go back to the game it runs fine again for a little bit before it lags

not sure if it's a driver issue, I can't play BFBC2 with any catlyst or drivers 9.12 or higher otherwise it crashes vpu recovery also

the only drivers that work steady for me are the original cd drivers

  • @etnerdnl I've been already thinking about upgrading my GPU which sucks because it's not even 1/2 year old

but the drivers seem to be going downhill for certain games

10.3 was supposed to contain a BFBC2 fix but it never fixed my vpu crash problem

i tried everything from removing drivers, installing different versions, minimal graphics, re-installing the game, overclocking it, and nothing works

I want the 5850 but I'm afraid the drivers will be messed up too

  • oh.btw why you don't have texture filter on highest?

  • this is the oldest video where I didn;t know it could go up to highest

the newest benchmark video I have uploaded after I got my new DDR2 and updated the game has avg 35 fps and it should have the setting to highest

  • but it still laggs sometimes, and Anti-ailasing doesn't work, i don't know why..

  • grand theft auto 4 has no AA support

  • gta iv has no aa support

  • i have without fraps 56 average FPS.

  • I think maybe the reason I get lower is from XP

i'm hearing a lot of people say that 5770 doesn't work properly which makes sense, considering it's a dx11 card and xp doesn't support

I will have to get windows 7 and check my benchmarks

  • i have a little better processor and same graphic card, but if i have settings like you it crashed, and out of video memory error show up, but i don't understand it because my card and yours has 1GB of memory

  • make sure you rollback your video card drivers

and re-install the new 10.1 ATI drivers

  • if it is still crashing your card must be faulty

  • Only 42 FPS? Wow. I get that kind of FPS with my 4670.

  • @RixxzIV I'm not sure if the card is fully functional with windows xp SP3

I was reading through my manual and it says for XP it only supports up to SP2 or x64 bit version

this is a card meant for win7/vista apparently

I may see a boost when I upgrade my OS

  • @beachzone2 question are you using windows 7?

I heard that the 5770 works way better with windows 7, apparently XP has some problems utilizing the whole card someone messaged me saying that

Not sure if it's true or not however

this is my old benchmark, my newest one is 35fps avg recording, and 45avg not recording

I might post another soon with higher resolution

  • Comment removed

  • Ok!, and when the 5770 has been not OC can you played GTA IV with view distance 100?

  • But there is no problem, the video memory can go red without problems, and you can record with a digital camera :(

  • ah true, I like to play it safe though

also I have no video camera

    I have the hd 5770 OC'd to 900/1305

so if it were to crash and stop working I wouldn't be able to get another on warranty since OC voids it :(

I haven't been playing GTA IV as much as crysis warhead recently, I'll post some Warhead videos

I play Enthuasist 8xAA 1280x720 but for video I reduced resolution to 1024x768 for steady 25-40 fps recording, 35-50 not recording

  • Thanks!, can you will do a video with all max settings?

  • nah, I won't because the video memory turns red, and I don't think it's good to use more resources than there is available

FYI without recording same settings resolution can go up to 1600x1200 although I can't figure out how to record that resolution without playback being off-timed

soon when I get my 1080p monitor I will have it at 1920x1080

  • can this play gta 4 and crysis @ max with good fps?

    amd dual core 3.0ghz

    4gb ram (2x2gb) 800mhz

    gigabite motherboard

    700watt psu

    xfx 5770 xxx 1gb ddr5

    thanks =)

  • everything looks capable :)

the only thing I'm not 100% sure is the cpu but according to the system requirements

you meet the recommended for crysis (dual core 2.4Ghz at least)

but GTA IV is the one I'm not 100% sure max (if you mean view distance+ resolution too)

because the reccomended for GTA IV is an Intel Quad core cpu OR an AMD triple-core cpu

however, I think you will be fine with the dual core for now

is it stock 3GHz or overclocked?

  • if it's the black edition dual core than you should be fine

check out my new gta iv video!! just finished posting it :)

  • Can you put max settingS???

  • I can with the exception of resolution

I don't put the settings higher than the video memory will go, unlike other people

so it probably will, but I'm happy enough with the important settings on very high/highest

view distance doesn't matter to me

since 21 view distance see's far enough cars ahead

  • only reason my resolution won''t max is because my monitor only supports up to 1600x1200

  • I'm gonna check benchmarks now

I just installed the new 10.1 drivers

  • @beachzone2 i have avg. 43fps on 1680x1050 with xfx 9600GT a. dog edition :)

  • i said it to guintherk

  • @licrizz oh weird, it came to my mailbox as a reply to my comment

  • buy a bigger psu, buy 530 watts

  • @licrizz why would i buy a different psu? I have 600w

  • no man, 600 is enough :P

  • I've never had a dual core so I'm not certain

I'll go on a limb and say it would still run , but probably not as smooth on very high

word is this game is dependent on 4 cores

    the requirements are

Recommended: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1GHz

if you have cash laying around pick up my cpu for around $200 or a X4 965 @ 3.4Ghz for about $250

you will see a boost for sure using this gpu

  • good video card

  • hope that helps

anymore questions feel free to ask

  • benchmark is a test of a program in order to determine the relative performance of your system

Vsync I always have off because it limits the refresh rate to that of the monitor for example

if you have Vsync on max fps I would get with my monitor is 60, and it wouldn't be able to go higher

with Vsync off there is no limit to framerate going higher than the monitors refresh rate

    I wouldn't reccomend anything under 600w PSU

My PSU (coolmax v600w) only cost me $25

    don't get below 600w

  • thanks

  • i have 1 problem (i have asus eah5770hd v2)1gb gddr5 an i have avg fps 16 whyyyyyyy) but i haved an ati radeon 3650hd series an my game was working with more fps why

cpu amd athlonx2 64 5200+2700mhz ram 3GB DDR2(x3 1GB) AND i have good settings for fps (PLEASE TELL ME THE PROBLEM! ) but in other game the card runs perfectly i think texture load problem but i i`m not sure (PLEASE TELL ME CAN I FIX THIS???) (IN GTA IV!!)

  • if you were using the 3650 before the hd5770 then make sure you uninstalled the 3650 drivers before you install the hd5770 drivers

only other thing I can suggest is maybe it's your cpu

gta IV is a game that from what I hear needs quad core to run good

    (for highest settings)

  • there could be a bottlenecking issue going on there

if the 3650 runs great with your cpu, then it could be the 5770 is too powerful for it

try uninstalling the drivers, re-install using the 5770 disc, then go to ATI's website and update to Catalyst control center 9.12

  • What is better 4890 or 5870

  • the 4890 has better performance fps since the 256bit interface

but the hd5770 is better imo since it has dx11 and is prepared for future games

  • I think I can get a lot higher fps, something is holding me back, I'm not sure what

  • i have an athlon 64 dualcore 5200+ and the same videocard and the game run too slow... :(

  • @xjevxbz I'd reccomend upgrading to a Phenom II X4 945

they are inexpensive and really fast

there is a video on youtube of the phenom II vs i7, and it looks the same graphics wise, but the price for core i7 is $900 more than AMD

  • my motherboard supports the phenom II x4 but uses DDR2 800 rams...

The kingstom rams are really bad?

And I'm having problems with my videocard... sometimes the game stops and strange lines appears on my monitor... It happens when i play crysis 2 or GTA IV too long.

I'm thinking to buy a better Power supply (PSU) lol

  • I just bought Kingston DDR2@800MHz 4GB (2x2GB)

and I posted the new benchmark

just upgrading my memory from 400Mhz to dual channel 800MHz boosted me 8 fps in both recording and not recording

    recording - 35.6 fps

    not recording- 48 fps

  • nice^^ i am gooing to get that card in a few days

  • @Arnodude53 FPS is a lot more with resolution at 1024x768

  • @Weslo2 how many fps do u get if u run it with 1920x1200?xD

    thats my monitor resolution^^

    26"

  • anyways maybe i'm gooing to set it all to medium and then try to run it at that resolution

  • @Arnodude53 I'm not sure, my monitor is crap, it's only 20" so it wont support 1920x1200

  • @Weslo2 oh ok, anyways this is gonna be so much beter then my crappy 8600gt (wich i sold for €30=))

  • yes 5770 wipes 8600gt off the map

    also 5770 is crossfire supported

so you could hook 2 of them up

  • @Weslo2 haha yea^^ but i only got one pci-e port=p but i'm gooing to buy a new motherboard and an i5 anyways

  • ya my motherboard also doesn't support crossfire

    but thats okay

I just got the 5770 to last me until the 58xx lineup drops in price

after all x2 5770 is about the same as one 58xx performance wise

  • I upgraded my memory, there is a new benchmark posted

the memory boosted me 8 fps recording/not recording
