What gene and Paul didn't say here was that after Joining Kiss Eric Carr got in touch with Peter Criss so he could learn how to drum those songs the right way, Criss who was very impressed with this show of fair play on Eric's part eventually became a good friend and even on his own site Peter Criss continues to praise Eric Carr as the only right guy to have replaced him.

Eric Carr was the true Kiss drummer even Peter Criss says so.

Carr rules. Period. I love PC but EC was my favorite (been a fan since May 74). Met PC once, EC 3 times, ES 2x.....all of them were great (PC was quick to move on...) but EC & ES spent time talking to fans. All 3 great drummers, PC kept time, EC was a power drummer, ES can do both but leans towards time but he is the original "have sticks will travel" kind of drummer. I think ES is doing an outstanding Catman. I hope PC feels better....EC - RIP.

it is obvious in Carr's playing that he was infuenced by Zeppelin's John Bonham. Another Amazing/worlds-best drummer who went too soon. Without a doubt, Eric Carr is a better drummer than Criss but Criss was very important to the band. You can say Singer is better than Peter but i'd say nahh. I choose Peter. R.I.P Eric Carr

Like Paul said...Peter was a jazz musician. Eric was into metal. Different playing styles. Both excellent, but Peter is an original member. He led the way. Future drummers played off of Peters' originality incorporating their styles in the mix. To say one is better than the other? Does it matter?
