There's American Sign Language, Japanese Sign Language, French Sign Language... many of them. It makes plenty of sense.

I don't question how it's possible for there to be multiple sign languages, because obviously, it's possible as there ARE multiple sign languages. That was about the first thing hammered into my head at the start of my ASL class. That ASL is NOT a universal language. There are other sign languages for other countries.
