  • some great inforamtion here thanks

  • you have some great stuff here

  • A real Klein bottle is only in the fourth dimension. This is in the third. The difference is that in the fourth dimension it doesn't intersect itself.

  • Put some perfume in it, call it a Kalvin Klein Bottle.

  • Hm, a "real" klein bottle can't be real. This theoretic figure needs 4 Dimensions to work.

  • FILL IT! DO IT! FILL IT!

  • The first bottle I've ever seen for where you need to fill it with water from the downside, where the top is... or something like that.

  • Comment removed

  • what do they even do? What are they used for?

  • Nice pipe bro.

  • The Klein Bottle didn't even bother me. Our desks are completely the same. As in brand or model or whatever. I don't know why that's the only thing I even cared about.

  • Give Kevin's bottle back.

  • you should totally fill it with water

  • The fourth dimension as decribed by theoretical science is actually time. You cant fold something into time. It is still a three dimensional product that cannot be equivocated by practicality. This is the best reproduction of an impossible object. They even have great reproductions of the Mobius strip. I have a continuous Mobius strip made out of plastic from a manufacturing company in Sweden. It actually has an undetectable seam of course but looks great.

  • @Physicalworld

When people talk about four dimensional objects they more often than not mean four spacial dimensions. Time isn't often treated as a dimension when talking about objects like these.

  • @inverseactuality In our universe there are not four spacial dimensions, only three. So I assumed people were talking of the fourth dimension as time.

  • It looks like a flamingo with no legs trying to hide. I like it.

  • Clean your room !!!

  • what can u do with this? xD

  • The question is, will it blend?

  • A couple years back, I tried in vain to understand the fourth dimension through it's unusual properties. I worked myself tirelessly to grasp it, but I just could not make sense of it. Eventually exhausting myself, I gave up to move to the next nerdy thing. A couple months later, I wondered how a Klein bottle doesn't intersect itself. It hit me like a lead block. The Klein bottle has no hole The tube simply bends into the fourth dimension and bends back!

  • Isnt that just an advanced version of a barometer shape?

  • I believe its real, but, whats this big deal about the Klein bottle?

  • a real klein bottleis only in 4D

  • we're all in that bottle.

  • So pour water into it already!

  • Comment removed

  • KleinBottle . com

  • I don't understand. How is that zero-volume? It looks like it'd hold water to me.

  • 103 Likes, 103 dislikes...

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO BE INFLUENCED NOW?!

haha jk 104 likes for the tie-breaker ;) very interesting but Klein bottles are not possible to build

  • clean your desk

  • why is there no videos of people filling these with water?? D:

  • @maccy66 Yeah I know I've been thinking about it too... like... when you turn it over after filling it with water, the water will still stay at the big bottom part

  • @maccy66 it's impossible.....I think? O_o?

  • But will it blend?

  • nice Neil Young "cassette" @ 0:12

  • You got a thumbs down from me not just because you claimed your Representation of a klein bottle as a real klein bottle but because the video quality sucked, instead of trying to show off your pathetic room and arm by filming the whole process of grabbing your Klein bottle do that beforehand and maybe show something interesting like pouring some water inside it.

  • can some one explain whats so amazing please it looks so easy to make as in its possible just curve glasstroug blow a hole in it and there what is it supost to be pleas reply

  • ya ive smoked outta something like that

  • You could make a shot glass from it

  • Coooool

  • i call bull shit on the!!!

much how a mobius strip is a 2D image that, in order for us to make it, requires it to be made in the 3rd dimension, a klein bottle, in order for us to make it, requires it to be made in the 4th dimension. However, the 4th dimension can not be achieved, thus instead, in order to get the concept, we allow the point where the tubes cross to be solid. Doing this may help one to understand the concept, but it is not a true klein bottle.

  • Real or not? Do you seriously expect someone to have a "real" Klein bottle? I don't really understand what the hype is about these things. Sure, it's a cool concept, but it doesn't blow my mind. It's a theoretical idea to entertain, like an infinite number of others. Things like fractals and moebius strips aren't anything special. They're a product of mathematical inquiry and the former occur in nature like nobody's business.

  • @fasolplanetarium

ooo. So passionate about something you don't have an interest in...

  • @HomerWinslow It is interesting. It's just not mind-boggling.

  • @HomerWinslow I know this a 3 month old comment, but how is he passionate about it? Being knowledgeable about something hardly means you're passionate about it. He is simply stating that things like the klein bottle and the moebius strips are simply a mathematical phenomenon. Just because it is theoretically possible to do these things does not mean that we should be awed by it.

  • @HomerWinslow can you put a vid up of colored water or somethin going in it?

  • @HomerWinslow He's right, this is stupid, worthless knowledge.

  • @HomerWinslow right????

  • @HomerWinslow i am a lamp worker an i will not rest untill i make one.

  • @fasolplanetarium What's special about the Klein Bottle is that you can transform it from a regular line into a Klein Bottle, than into a Mobius Strip.

  • @fasolplanetarium Sorry but what's your point? 'The former occur in nature like nobody's business', what of it?

  • @fasolplanetarium You obviously do not have a better understanding of what fractals are if you can say they arent anything special

  • @fasolplanetarium speaking of moebius strip..i was brough here from "do try this at home with Mr.G" in the episode where he explains a moebius strip...its pretty cool haha just sayin lol

  • @fasolplanetarium

Aside from the fact that Klein's "mathematical inquiries" put Cartan in a position to unify euclidian and riemannian geometry in one of the most profound mathematical theories of the last century. The Klein bottle also happens to be a key element in understanding the concepts underlying the topology of orientable surfaces (which is central to the left-handed nature of our universe). As for fractals, some of the most successful data compression algorithms are fractal based.

  • Real or not I don't care! The music is fantastic!!!!!!!

  • It's a real Perspective!.. of a klein bottle in 3D ...

  • This is not a REAL klein bottle. We live in a 3 dimensional world, therefore, no TRUE klein bottle would exist.

  • anyone up for a hit from my klein bong?

  • @arrrz0rrr9 would be so funny and trippin' not knowing if it's coming in or out! hahah! the super-uplift stoner trying to explain flatland and mobius and 4-d and the others going blink.. blink... blink..

  • @arrrz0rrr9 fuck yeah (@_@)

  • now put liquid in it and get it back out :) it would be possible of course, i just want to visually see how it happens, because i've only thought about it.

  • Id like to drink out of one.

  • What if tou put water into it?

  • I saw that and i was like:

    BONG!!1!

Where did you get your bottle? Did you make it? Or buy it off Clifford Stoll?

  • Okay, now fill it! lol Not a "bottle" if it doesn't hold liquid, now is it? hmm

  • @JamesSCameron Ur such a dumbass, the Klein Bottle is a mathematical theory, its like saying this about a pineapple, "Okay, where is the apple tree! lol Not an "apple" if it doesn't come from an apple tree, now is it? hmm." If you were making a joke however, just ignore this.

  • @skyeliam And you're so gullible, because I knew exactly what it was. (duh). Do you practice to be so rude, though? Or does it just happen instinctively? Maybe it's a bad gene.. Pretty sad when you have to explain that you were (I was) joking.. or else people get so "nasty"

  • @JamesSCameron Look, sarcasm doesn't travel on the web buddy. Judging by others replies to this joke you made, I am not the only one to think that you're stupid. I don't think that not understanding your ignorance and stupidity makes me gullible, I doubt you know what your talking about when you say "Maybe it is a bad gene..." I think you enjoy sounding smart but lack the actual intelligence. Obviously you are a hypocrite for claiming I am nasty since you feel the need to be nasty as well.

  • @JamesSCameron It WILL hold liquid, dumbdumb. It only takes a tiny bit of brain power to visualize it.

  • Why did you have to film yourself getting out of the cabinet?

  • @CraigClan73

Just to add that subtle air of mystery.

  • thank you for wasting 1:14 of my life.

  • @caughtupinthematrix

You're so very welcome. Glad I could oblige.

  • practical piece of equipment

  • dude yer bong is broken

  • @mandasity Nah, just bent :o)

  • @DogsinSpace1 lol nope, definitely broken good sir!

  • close bro, very close

  • ...とりあえず、部屋、片付けようか。

  • @shige2010gt

    Huh?

  • непереливайка ))

  • @SergoniuSO

    Wha?

  • @HomerWinslow

    неваляшка, russian

  • haha i want one(:

  • That's pretty neat

  • If you poured water into it,it would be like a gallon of water in a huge bottle.

  • wait so if u put water in it it can have the ability to be turned upside down

  • For those who say it's not real, it's just a glass model, what's wrong with a model of something like a Klein bottle? I actually think it looks cool.

  • @Sporezi Hmmm, it's like saying a model car isn't real.

  • @loukkbox Lol sure, everythings a scam...

  • Have you ever tried filling it with something? I wonder how hard it would be. WHere did you get it?

  • @xXbrokenskaterXx

Actually I *did* try to pour water in it. It kinda got hung up and then I got to thinking, if it *did* go into with that much difficulty it might also be difficult to get it out. So I didn't try again.

As to where I got it. I had it blown by a glass blower in San Francisco.

  • imagine that with a bit of water in it.

  • Interesting bottle. But it's not a REAL real Klein bottle. The neck is supposed to pass through itself and join WITHOUT the existence of a hole. In our 3d universe, this is not possible.

  • @DiegoKnyte

    Yer so smort!

  • @DiegoKnyte our univrse is not 3d it is 4d in a 4d universe a klein bottle is pssible

  • @grwalk1 No our world is in 5D. Fifth Dimension = Time and Space.

  • @PuLsE0o0 its 3+1 d. the 3 dimentions of space and the plus one of time.

  • @PuLsE0o0 bullshit

  • @PuLsE0o0 all dimensions are space, time is the fourth, everything after that is speculation.

  • @grwalk1 theorhetically, the universe has 11 dimensions. The thing is, we mainly perceive and interact in 3 dimensions since we can't move through time of our own free will or see through time or any other dimension but height width and depth.

  • @DiegoKnyte Yes it is possible. Read up on quantum physics and more specifically quantum tunneling.

  • @DiegoKnyte i dont understand?

  • @DiegoKnyte It is in fact a real Klein bottle. The hole in a Klein bottle is a necessary part of the topology. It's where the surface intersects itself.

  • @DiegoKnyte that is what he meant in the description.

this is not some 4D computed image, this is a real (material) 3D version of the bottle

  • @DiegoKnyte Actually, it's not supposed to self-intersect at all; the neck goes from inside to outside by going around the wall in the fourth dimension.

  • @DiegoKnyte There is no hole jackass. A klein bottle is just suppose to be a zero-volume bottle with a one sided surface made for our entertainment, don't be a killjoy. The idea is logical and believable you can't make a fake klein bottle dumbass as long as theres only one side what difference does a hole make? I don't even know wtf you're on about talking about a hole. -_-

  • @FranzFurst I really want to understand this, how does it not have volume? If you were to hold this object in your hand, you'd be able to pour liquid in it, correct? Either I'm missing something big here or a lot of really intelligent people are missing something little. I'd prefer the former but it seems nothing more than an an oddly shaped flask.

Side-note: in the world of math, one should never just try to entertain, accuracy is far more important.

  • i see if you pour something in it it goes through the loop and inside

  • The fourth dimention must be time, if a 4-D object is warped, then you warp time itself

  • cool..wanna have one :D

  • pour water in it

  • where did you get this klein bottle? That's so cool? I want one now!

  • you can fill it with some liquid?

you can fill it with some liquid? please...

  • that is not a klein bottle... is a klein bottle R^3 projection... is a topological space not defined in threedimensional euclidean space... in any case, what we can see is an inmersion into R^3...

  • Who cares. It's cool to look at.

  • why would you want that?¿?

  • Because it's cool and you don't have one.

  • @HomerWinslow You're really mean for no reason, aren't you?

  • Not really. Just funnin'!

  • @HomerWinslow 2 things:

1)Where did you get that and are there bigger ones?

2)Interesting how your "joke" can be interpreted in two ways. There are currently 6 thumbs up for Interrobang3 to confirm that they think you were offensive. Being a math tutor that works with kids of all ages, I can understand your humor.

  • @jpcurley25

1.) You can actually buy a Klein Bottle online. Do a search and you can find a distributor. They are not cheap and yes they do come in larger sizes.

2.) Yeah few people have a sense of humor anymore, do they?

  • @HomerWinslow

    2 things:

1)Where did you get that, bigger ones?

2)Interesting how Interrobang3 with his 6 thumbs up confirm that your comment appears offensive as written. I think most would agree with him/her. Working in retail 4 years and as a math tutor for 12 years, I understand your humor. What's interesting is to watch how others react because of how they perceive you or anything. I'm not singling you out, either, because it's a really profound thing that happens to all of us! :)

  • quit campin and load that shit already.

  • WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

  • One of these days, I am going to write a story titled, "MS Found in a Klein Bottle".

  • @doctorpsycho1960

"MS"? Who is this? I must know you.

  • @HomerWinslow I intend one day to write a story called "MS Found In a Klein Bottle" as a play on Edgar Allan Poe's famous story "MS Found In a Bottle".

    MS here stands for "manuscript".

No, don't think I know you, but anyone who likes Klein flasks is worth knowing.

  • nice bong

  • what is it good for?

  • @letterbekmen shows a 4th dimension... that's what my crack-head physics teacher said... she also believes time travel will be possible in the near future...

  • @PaintBalla701 Time travel will never be possible. just think about it: Somebody after us goes back to the past, what was before us, and change something, Like kill lenin or Hitler, we would already feel it now, those stuff won't even happen. this is just the utopism of humanity

  • @letterbekmen however you could also argue that certain events in history possibly occured BECAUSE someone traveled back and caused them...

  • @jgdogg441 Idk ive heard it said it could be only be possible to travel back to the point the time machine was created.

  • @GOKUSXJ Now, that's just ridiculous.

  • @jgdogg441 Exactly!

  • @letterbekmen if time travel to the past existed in the future we would already know about it... the only way time travel is possible is if you travel near the speed of light... then take the time you spent on the "space ship" traveling that fast and multiply it by 2. (i.e. 2.5 years on ship would put you 5 years from when you left into the future.) time travel to the past cannot happen due to paradox... i dont remember what the book was called but it was written by Stephen Hawking.

  • @PaintBalla701

time is an abstract concept, not a condition you live under

you cannot travel backwards through something, that isnt

    :O)

  • @lukkbox I'm not arguing with that.

  • @letterbekmen But if that person killed "lenin" (sic) or Hitler, that would have been part of our history and we would never have been the wiser. But, time travel has been and always will be possible.

  • what if someone kills his grandfather???

  • @9576215

    paradox lol

  • @9576215 that's what i'm refering to by paradox.. assuming you killed you're grandfather your entire BEING would cease to exist. thus, resulting in you actually never going back in time in the first place... it's a somewhat complicated loop.

  • @9576215 He'd probably go to prison, if they caught him. And the rest of his family would not be too happy with him. I never met my Grandfather but I'm sure I wouldn't have killed him.

  • @HomerWinslow Yeah, then they would probably bust up your time machine lol

  • @PaintBalla701

Time travel to the future IS possible. But only forward.

  • @L00NGB00W and you can't time travel forward by going backwards? OH NO! I DIDNT KNOW THAT! THANKS DUDE!

  • @L00NGB00W

time is not real, its a mode by which you've been trained to think

    lol@you

  • @lukkbox

I've trained myself to think relativistically. If time is not real, then what do you call space-time? or causality?

I'd grant that time is malleable, but not non-existant.

Here's a rather interesting consequence of relativity if you're interested. At smaller distances the effect is negligible, but at larger distances it's measurable.

Another state of time known as 'elsewhere' gets inserted between present and future, and is technically 'outside time' for all intents and purposes.

    V

  • @L00NGB00W

did you ever, just once, stop to consider that EVERYTHING you know isn't worth shit?

Perhaps until you do, you'll never be receptive to the real truth

  • @lukkbox

    Hmm... Yes.

    Fuck you too.

  • @L00NGB00W

if time were a condition we lived under we would all age at the same rate ...

einstein said himself that 'time is a mode by which you have been trained to think and certainly not a condition you live under'

all that was, and is ... is now

    :O)

  • @lukkbox But then, Einstein couldn't count the change in his pocket.

  • V

An example of this, is the time lag when communicating with the Mars Rovers. At it's closest point, Mars is around 5 Light-Minutes away. Events happening on mars are completely unaccessable until 5 minutes into the future. The present on Mars is only observable in the future, but by that point in time it was the past. Hence, "Elsewhere". =)

A more drastic example would be a black hole. Beyond the event horizon, "Elsewhere" becomes infinite. =0

  • @L00NGB00W

black holes were disproven long ago buddy

its an electrical plasma universe we live in and are part of

the sun is not on fire, and the earth is not flat

    sorry x

  • lol @lukkbox

  • @lukkbox What blackholes disproven? :O when did that happen? :O By who? :O why didn't anybody tell me? :O (when you say a black hole you do mean an object that is like realy small for an object with a great mass so its gravity is so strong even light can't escape it? ) Oh and I totally agree about the time thing. you can't travel trhough it or grab it it's not a force. Time is an indication of the location of stars and planets relative to the earth or sun. (hope you understand I'm not english :P

  • @thepianoaddict hehe

black holes are a theory, nothing more

so far the only black hole theyve found is in the budget cos they spent £100 billion looking for something that doesnt exist and never will

a jew scam basically, like nasa

  • @lukkbox lol ok

  • @lukkbox The only thing that actually exists is conciousness, but it's more fun to argue about other stuff, due to it being the point.

  • @L00NGB00W Here, here!!

  • @PaintBalla701 Time travel has always been possible. It was possible the minute time was created. I've traveled all the way from 1954 to tell you this!

  • put water in it and watch it flow in and out

that would be so fun and entertaining to watch lmao

  • @blueC0MET water wouldn't spill out until you turned it and made the water flow out. if water was poured into this it would simply settle in the bottom of the tube

  • how though if its one side?

  • Amazing... no 4 dimensional spacial limitations here.. LMAO thank you glass blowers. One day we will perfect 4th dimensional spacial occupation.. Imagine the question " is the glass half-empt or half-full?" and your answer could be "neither, this glass has unlimited volume, welcome to my personal singularity".

  • neato

  • wtf do you smoke outta that

  • @thelastgoodpunk

definately needs a downpipe and some gauze built into it imho

  • pour water into it!!

  • Its not a 'real' klein bottle. A 'real' one is 2d, this is a 3d representation of one.

  • ya, umm... a "real" klein bottle cant be anything but 3d. the thing that makes this unreal is that the material is not passing through itself.

  • exactly

  • You mean 4d.

  • Hey,

a klein bottle is an object that can not hold any mass, and idk what the other properties of it are, but you can look at it in this video and notice that it cant hold anything inside of it.

  • @ExpertOfSound Why can u not hold anything in it?
