  • wow this ship is unsinkable in the event of a flooding!

They would never get a hole that big too!

  • @260KPH don't get overly confedent. they said the same about titanic.

  • if you look at the amount the amount of ship in height that you did not build on that model at the angel that tipped at almost imedetly i would say the ship would continue capsize and propably sink

  • @brickerproductions, on the other hand the center of gravity might be at the correct height despite the lack of actual superstructure, making the model test accurate.

  • @tupsumato theres another guy who got his comment removed because it said something like mine so i dont think they had something like that

  • @brickerproductions, well, there's the blue metal truss on top of the model and probably not that much heavy stuff in the hull, so I think it could be accurate. After all, the top decks of OotS don't weigh that much in comparison what's inside the hull.

  • Dear All,

i have a question about psychology:

*Why do human want to and dream of building a big cruise but other animals do not?

I mean other specious of animals do not even dream of making a small boat.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • @applesweeter How do you know?

  • I posted this comment before and they ERASED IT!!! This ship is taller than it is wide and this video DOES NOT address the issue of stability ir.o. a freak wave of 75 ft high hitting the vessel broadside. This is the first OBVIOUS question raised on just a cursory glance at the vessel. If this comment is erased again I will get to the bottom of it!!! I am a structural engineer by profession.

  • @colininsa, all the heavy machines, tanks etc. are located as close to the baseline as possible, keeping the center of gravity down and improving stability. The external appearance doesn't matter as the upper decks don't weigh that much.

I agree that a broadside freak wave could cause problems, but doesn't the ship in such weather conditions in which freak waves can form usually sail bow towards the waves? Do they even have freak waves in the Caribbean?

  • so oasis of the seas has high centre of gravity? how could their engineers allow this?

  • @colininsa on top of that the hull is tiny compared to the rest of the ship!

  • @brickerproductions, there's no need for it to be bigger.

  • Damn that tow tank is NICE!

  • @Patoche129, tow tank envy? ;)

  • If this ship were to hit an iceberg like the RMS Titanic, how would it respond to the collision? Also, how would it respond if it got hit by a torpedo like the Lusitania?

These are merely hypothetical engineering questions, and I sincerely hope such things never happen to this wonderful ship. I am not a sadist.

  • The watertight bulkheads would probably keep the ship afloat if the iceberg pierced the hull. It is, however, unlikely as the building method is completely different (welding instead of riveting).

As for the torpedo... well, perhaps the ship would survive a WW2-era torpedo, but definitely not a modern one.

  • global warming getting rid of ice burgs

also i dont see why they would shoot an inoccent cruise ship with a torpedo

the luisitania was shot because it was also a well known warship
